A Zen oasis
By misscaste on 6/25/2008
I am there every 4 to 5 weeks, and I adore Kevin and MichaelAnthony. The salon is an intimate, beautiful, drama-free oasis. I just love it! -Deb C.

Kevin has consistently given me the best haircut i have ever had. I have a big mane of curly hair, so this is a difficult task. Michael Anthony is the best colorist I have ever worked with. My blonde looks natural and textured. I get compliments every day. I work in the fashion industry and have tried almost every salon in New York. I am convinced WOON is the best. You will not be disappointed.
my hair heroes

There is a reason I keep going back to Woon salon: Stylist Kevin Woon and colorist Michael Anthony are the best. Kevin works with hair very instinctively, tailoring each cut to your texture and face shape and personality. In other words, he doesn't force his own vision on your hair. Michael is a "fixer" and probably the most scientific colorist I've met. I first went to him to fix a disastrous color mishap (which he did an amazing job on) and explained to me step by step how he was going to transform my hair. He's been my guy ever since. They don't come cheap--but quality never does. Oh, and Kevin's ipod--I would steal for his playlists.
Unfortunately, The Secret Revealed...

Is it a good thing that this gem of a salon is getting a "critics pick" write up? Not if you're one of Woon's loyal clientele who's been discreetly getting their hair cut by this stylist and keeping it on the down-low as I have! Don't do that "I want my hair to look just like...(fill in the celebrity of the day)": trust that they'll give you a cut you never knew you wanted - or perfect what you've always had! This is just the beginning! Wait to see how happy you are when it grows out... Fantastic and always completely natural looking. And the pairing between the stylists and colorist couldn't be more symbiotic. Enjoy your experience!
MICHAELANTHONY RULES WITH COLOR!
By Horatio1 on 6/18/2008
I've been all over NYC trying to find the right colorist, especially when I spend and I need to spend more on damage control, MICHAELANTHONY to the rescue. First, he fixed a monster of a problem, that was 3 years ago and I continue to go to my color master . I get compliments daily and my referals tell me it's the BEST referal they've had. If you want to look your best, than you will be happy. I'm hard to please, but MichaelAnthony will keep you coming back.
The Best Little Gem in Soho

I kind of want to keep Woon a secret because it is a small salon and Kevin takes very good care of his clients, he makes sure that you are comfortable and even serves you delicious tea. He listens and gets exactly how I want my hair to look like and I would always walk out of the salon feeling beautiful and relaxed. It's like a fun visit to a friend's house!

Kevin is a master at hair. Each time I have given him only slight direction in what I want and he takes it one step further, perfectly. I have never in 30 years had hair cuts that grow out so even and perfect. I have been going to him for a couple of years now, and don't plan on going anywhere else. Would highly recommend!
A true artist who does magic to your hair

Kevin is the best, have been his client for over one year, can't do w/o him. I always get complimented on my hair style. He is so creative. He is good with all kinds of look, but more importantly, what works best on YOU. Just moved to new location at: 6 Spring St ( between Elizabeth and Bowery). I highly recommend you give him a try!
