Rooms are way too small.... and I stayed in a double bed suite! But, nothing compared to the bathroom. That was minimal! the service was awful. really hard to maintain a good level of service when you have 2 (sometimes 3) people at the front desk and one concierce. That for an 800+ room hotel! cannot possibly work. Lines and lines at both places and, well, calls were never picked up! Luckily I stayed in a top floor (18th) and did not have problems with the elevators. Invariably when they arrive in lower floors, they were full and the guest had to wait for another one. So, if you are looking for a "scenery", with a nice & interesting decor, this is a nice place. If you are looking for a good hotel, with amenities and high level of service, this is definitely not your place! This was truly disappointing.

Starck's chef-d'oeuvre !

Yes, that's true, rooms are small and a bit noisy... But the lobby is incredibly terrific. The location is perfect, near central park, Moma, Met, etc... It is one of the best Philippe Starck's works, who created the famous Hudson chair for Emeco.

Do not go to the bar ... if you're wearing flip flops

The "bouncer" at the front bar area of the hotel (not to be confused with Library at the back area) was so rude to my friend who happened to be wearing flip flops, and wouldn't let her into the bar. Now, I can understand certain establishments having a dress code, but this is the Hudson Hotel, not 1 Oak, not Tenjune, and certainly not fancy by any means. Further, she wasn't dressed sloppy or unprofessional. And what really made me upset was that there were several other girls in the bar area wearing flip flops. If you're going to enforce a ridiculous dress code, at least do it uniformly. Its too bad that the service was so awful, b/c I liked the decor and the drinks were good.

Rooms too small and noisy. Entire hotel is too dark. Tried to find quiet place off the lobby to read while the kids were at the circus. No place with enough light (during the day) to read. Ridiculous On other hand great tourist location, Walked to Central Park, Museums, Times Square Madison Square Garden. Tons of good inevexpensive restaurants on 9th Ave. Great Thai food for example.
