Incompetent service, dirty, a rip-off

No, I would not go back!

Booked a Saturday night here for my 25th anniversary weekend after longing to stay at this hotel for many years. It was a service disaster on every level. The room I wanted on a high floor was promised, yet not available even though I booked a month in advance, and even called with my room preference several days before. We waited about 90 minutes for check in although we arrived at the proper time. We were given a dirty room, with fecal matter still in the toilet from a previous guest. When we complained we were promised a bottle of white wine but it was never delivered. In the morning we had no hot water. Our compensation for this was a credit of $150 off of our bill. So still we had to pay $350 for a room with a dirty toilet and no hot water. The worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I have travelled all over the world for 30 years. STAY AWAY.

Yes, I would go back!

I didn't know what to expect when I booked a room at The Standard, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The staff was young, hip and good looking, but also got things done. My room was not at spacious, but was absolutely beautiful. At one point I found myself sitting on my bed simply staring at the wood accents. The amenities and service were far better than I expected, although uncannily expensive. I would highly recommend this hotel-- it's high rating was well-deserved.

Absolutely overrated, small rooms poor service!

No, I would not go back!

Rooms are very small and beds too. If you don't specify for a king size bed you are very likely to try the smallest bed ever as well as a very small bathroom. They tell you that you can have the breakfast included in the price and served in you room. I waited for an hour to have it in my room to discover later that they brought it to another room. This place pretends to be fancy... but it simply doesn't worth any kind of attention.
