Never have I sung so hard or dance so much for one movie. This is totally worth watching. It kills so many birds with one stone! It's all about love, female empowerment, aging, family and it's importance, having fun while your alive just every lesson your mother taught you. I love you Meryl your awesome :* I say it's better RENTED because your going to want to sing all the ABBA hits it's a musical kinda like Hairspray,Wizard of Oz. Trust me, they don't over do it!

The main women were way too old for the parts. They were old enough to be the bride's grandmother, not her mother. And if the audience was supposed to be made to believe they were actually in their 40's & not their 60's, they could have done without the Sr. Citizen jokes and 'Does Your Mother Know That You're Out" scene, not to mention a little make-up, more flattering lighting & a few blur filters. Aside from the distracting inappropriate age differences, the flick was still disappointing. The acting was forced & over-dramatic even for a musical. You'd have to REALLY be a diehard Abba fan to go just for the songs. Do you really WANT to go watch 3 women in their 60's dressed up in 70's over-the-top rock costumes & singing Abba like they were show tunes? i felt like i was watching my grandmother make a fool of herself, it was embarrasing. i rated it a 2 just because the location was lovely.
