This was seriously one of THE best superhero movies ever. Dark, gritty, honest, and so well done. Starts with a bang, and never stops going. Even Eric Roberts was a delight to watch as a sleazy mafioso. And the very best part of the film -- Heath Ledger. What can we say. What can we NOT say.. I'm sad he didn't get to see the success of this film. He was fantastic. Have gave it all he had, and it shows. I too, couldn't take my eyes off of him. He went out on top.

The best comic book-to-big screen venture to date, The Dark Knight is not so much a superhero film as it is crime story. Heath Ledger steals the show as the definitive Joker who is easily the most memorable on screen villian in the last 10-15 years. Wonderful cinematography at the hands of Wally Pfister and a grim and truly captivating return as Batman himself, Christian Bale proves that he is one of the best actors working today. The Dark Knight, suprisingly is a Batman film not suitable for children. The villian is morbid and sardonic. Anarchy, death, escalation, and corruption are the key issues dealt with. But don't allow those words to deter you from seeing what is undoubtedly the best Batman picture yet, the best comic book/superhero adaptation thus far and the best film of the year. Oh yeah, to not give Ledger a posthumous Oscar for his performance would be a crime against nature.
