Yoo Hoo Mrs Goldberg gently spoons out its tale of Gertrude Berg and builds momentum to a shocking dramatic climax. I was really taken by surprise by the depth and power of this story. The legacy of Gertrude Berg was unknown to me and to most of the audience I sat with. I saw it at Lincoln Center Cinemas and it was packed. People were laughing through many parts and at the end I heard weeping. But I know I never saw it coming. Aviva Kempner has done great work writing and directing and producing this film. I liked it even better than her Life and Times of Hank Greenberg. I urge everyone to go see this amazing and remarkable documentary.
