As a family, we are indifferent to---or even suspicious of--- desserts, but everyone loved this wonderful gateau that my cousin brought to Thanksgiving dinner. The flavor and texture were complex and substantial enough to follow the feast, yet, blessedly, the cake was not overly heavy or sweet. The leftovers are great, too.
