dinner time staff need better training... food is good

this was our second time at the restaurant but 1st dinner. we waited over an hour to be seated outside but the bartender and the maitre d' were v good about it and service was great. that was the end of the good service. the waiter took our orders and didnt show up once to check on us. we ordered over four bottles of wine and he barely showed up to pour it, we had to call over for him when our glasses ran dry. disappointed in that poor service at our table but the food and bartender made up for it. we will be back but not for dinner, probably for brunch with different staff waiting on us.
Anything worse than mediocrity?

I wanted to write a fair and balanced review but I can't seem to get under this ridiculous word limit. 10 Downing is a no go. Average space, average staff, average food. Went in with no expectations walked out with lighter pockets and vows to never again eat somewhere that turns out results less impressive than my kitchen at home. $300 bucks for one bottle of wine, one shared app for the table, three entrees, and three COMPED deserts. I thinks not.
Nice brunch in the village

The menu is not extensive but it is comprehensive. Portions are in the smaller side. Price is reasonable. The space is pleasant, the light is nice and there's room to maneuver. I recommend it for weekend brunch, which is the only thing I had there. I have no opinion of it as far as lunch or dinner goes.

If you've been to any of the countless Modern American restaurants (Perilla, Little Owl, The Harrison, etc) in NYC, the menu at 10 Downing doesn't offer anything new. As for the service, it was embarrassingly bad. My boyfriend and I waited around an hour for our appetizers. To top it off, before we ordered dessert we were asked to switch tables, so that a larger group could take our table. Our waiter neither apologized for the switch nor comped our dessert. On our way out we complained to the manager who apologized and told me to get in contact with her so that "she could take care of us". My boyfriend called her the next week on the cell # she provided and never heard back. Needless to say, I suggest you skip 10 Downing.

Awesome food, worth the wait for the grand opening, tempting foods irresistible duck prosciutto, and so many time consuming delicacies pickled to perfection that I can't list just one....molten dark devilish chocolate to die for in a dessert....nothing but style, in a classy dining room setting...kudos...what a great location, can't wait til spring to dine al fresco......on this beautiful city street....what a winning combination Dorian and Neroni..keep up the good work.
