Lunch menu very poor. Food very basic and boring. No good flavors. Not worth the money.

My experience at 50 Carmine didn't start off well. Upon our arrival at 8pm, the bartender told us that our 8pm reservation would not be honored. After I made a face, a manager told us that they would honor our reservation (although he called me by the wrong name), that we could have a free drink and that it would be just a few minutes. We waited at the crowded, noisy bar and surveyed a number of undesirably located tables (at the bar, by the door) that we anticipated being seated at. We were seated at 845. Once seated, our experience changed for the better. Service was quick and the food was good (not unlike via emilia, for those who have been). I ordered the chicken broth with parmagianna, which was so-so and my wife had the artichoke special, which was superb. Our main courses, penne with a cheesy-cream sauce and pappardelle with wild boar ragu were solid. At $60 for 2, the bill was a nice surprise as well.
