NOT IMPRESSED WITH LOUNGE
By MaddieB on 9/26/2011
I cannot review the food, but the lounge service (if hosting a birthday party) is awful! To my disappointment, I hosted a birthday party here this past Saturday, September 24, 2011, for my sister and the accomodations were awful! The promoter for the evening, booked two parties with identical names (mine being one of those) and then tried to remove us from our VIP area although it was his error and we got there before the other party did. To make matters worst, waitress service was very bad. Our waitress had a poor attitude and was not helpful at all. Instead it appeared that she was trying to pull a fast one and get some extra cash from us. The promoter gave me one price prior to my arrival for bottle service and waitress insisted in charging me a much higher price. When she failed at her attempt to hussle me, her attitude became far worst. She was in two words: VERY NASTY. The final blow was when the promised birthday cake and champagne was never brought out to us even after I approached the waitress and inquired about it. As far as the lounge atmosphere is concerned, music was good but too crowded and not ideal for people who are just looking for a nice place to get a drink and dance a bit. There's no real dance floor, instead tables everywhere. If you're not getting bottle service, then you might as well not go. My biggest regret was choosing 809 Lounge to celebrate my sister's birthday but I have learned from my mistakes. Goodbye forever to 809 Lounge!

I was at this location on saturday. I have to say that i had an awesome time. The place looked amazing, the food was great, the music in the club was great. It was a mixture of reggeaton, hip hop, and merengue and salsa. It was great and very entertaining. i cant wait to go back.
Check your bill

I was very impressed with this restaurant. The decor, the service and the food were top notch. However, when the bill came, my husband and I noticed that an 18% gratuity was added to the bill. (Too bad, it would have been more) We were paying by credit card so when the bill came back with the credit card, a line for tip was added to the total. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he stumbled and blamed the computer. Just felt that I was trying to be taken advantage of. It ruined the night. Still I would go back again. It was that good. Just beware.

I absolutely love this restaurant, After the first time for mothers day I fell in love with it. when I first arrived i was pretty skeptical bc I thought it would be like the typical dominican restaurant but I was wrong the menu had a great variety of things to choose from. And I wanted to order everything! I ordered the guacamole & pineapple with the long tortilla chips, the lobster soup, the rellenos with shrimp. All of it was amazing and that was only appetizers so imagine how great the entree would be then my stepfather and I shared the paella with lobster, it was a taste of heaven. It had such great flavor. My sister and mother had the churasco skirt steak with the yuca fries. To top it all off everything tasted soo good, to this day I have been there a few times. Overall the ambience has such a sensual dim lighting it definitely sets the mood for a romantic date. Every desert on the menu is great.A Must have would be the TRES LECHE, You will not find a better TRES LECHE then this one.
