wonderful brooklyn spot

The food is amazing. They have a this wonderful always changing cheese plate with walnuts and honey. They offer creatively delicious bruscetta options, and the best juicy roasted chicken pesto panini I have ever tasted. Seriously. They also have great drink menu, with a huge selection of fine whiskeys, complete with handy little taste descriptions on the menu. The service is overall very good, but it can be a little slow on weekend nights. It's not a great family spot, but it's perfect for dates, business meetings, and grabbing a drink and appetizers with friends.

I have been here a few times and enjoyed it immensely. The service was great when I was there and the bartender even made me a great non-alcoholic drink that was delicious. My favorites are the zucchini which is so simple but so good, and the panna cotta which has just enough mint so as not to overwhelm. Will definitely go back again and again!

When I lived in the neighborhood this was one of our standbys. I recommend arugula salad, nightly pasta or risotto special and mint panna cotta. It is a simple, delicious spot. If you go on the early side there are usually young kids accompanying their parents. Later in the evening the lighting is nice and dim. It's wonderful for good conversation and a couple glasses of wine.

I've been a rather regular customer of Bocca Lupo only because I'm too lazy to go to 'Inoteca or Il Posto Accanto in Manhattan (both restaurants which seem eerily similar to Bocca Lupo...hmm). The menu never changes and the food is not that great to go back. The pasta dishes are forgettable and wimpy. It's really loud in there too so it's not like you can actually enjoy the unoriginal decor, which is nice. The service is good, however. Very nice staff. I'll take the trip into the city next time. At least I will be satisfied.

Great food, RUDE waitress

Both food and prices were excellent. The wine prices were exceptionally reasonable and adequately varied. But our waitress seemed annoyed to be waiting tables. She bristled at our inquiries about the wine and was irritated that we ordered dessert. I would order take-out or sit at the bar to take advantage of the menu and avoid the wait staff.

My husband and I went to Bocca Lupo last week. I'm about 9 months pregnant and we wanted to eat there before we had the baby. Our experience was unpleasant from the beginning. When we arrived, we asked three different people how long the wait was before anyone returned to tell us. Once we were seated, my husband ordered wine and the waitress began to leave when I had to catch her to ask for water. She rolled her eyes as if pregnant women only drink water. Later, our waitress became blatantly annoyed when I asked whether the cheese in my dish was pasteurized. She snapped at me about how it is illegal for restaurants to serve food with unpasteurized cheese, which is simply not true. Then, when I asked whether the meat in my dish was smoked or cooked, she informed me that they don't serve raw meat to customers. My questions were typical pregnancy questions and I did not understand why she felt aggressive when I asked them. On the other hand, the food was good--though not fantastic. But I would not go back after being treated that way.

Descent food, inconsistent service.

I live just a couple of blocks from this place but barely go there. The food is pretty good (especially meatballs) but service is hit or miss. One night we had a good time and service was great, another night, our waitress let us know right away, that asking questions about food was the best way to make her VERY irritated. When it comes to neighborhood Italian, I would choose Noodle Pudding over this place any day of the week.
