PLEASE BE AWARE TO ANYONE PLANNING TO EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT BY THE NAME OF IL BASTARDO THAT THE MANAGERS ARE A BUNCH OF EUROPEAN RACIST AND DISCRIMINATES AGAINST GAY MEN OR LESBIAN!I WENT TO DINE AT THE RESTAURANT ONE EVENING A THURSDAY NIGHT AND WHEN I COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FOOD BECAUSE I FOUND A ROACH INTO MY MINESTRONE SOUP I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER AND WHEN I BROUGHT THE PROBLEM TO A GENTLEMAN BY THE NAME OF ANGELO (MANAGER) HE SAID TO ME SEVERAL TIMES THAT I AM AN AMERICAN FAGGOT AND LOOSER LIKE ALL OF THEM THAT DINE IN HIS RESTAURANT AND ASKED ME TO LEAVE HIS ESTABLISHMENT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE HE PHISICALLY ESCORT ME TO THE DOOR! HE REPEATEDLY CALLED ME AMERICAN FAGGOT AND AMERICAN LOOSER!! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT EVEN THE FOOD IS DISGUSTING AND THAT I FOUND A DEAD ROCH INTO MY MINESTRONE SOUP! ANYONE IN THE RIGHT MIND SHOULD NOT EAT OR SPEND ANY MONEY AT THIS RESTAURANT OR AT ANY RESTAURANT OWN BY THESE INDIVIDUALS, ENRICO MALTA OR BOBBY MALTA (HIS BROTHER) OR BY ANGELO!! DON'T EVEN THINK EATING AT IL BASTARDO!!!!

Had dinner here last night. Very, very loud in the second dining room after the bar. Definitely not a good idea for talking to anyone. So no good for client dinners or catching up with family. Food was just ok. Nothing really special. Entree portions were actually small for the prices and the type of Italian restaurant this is.

Was just here for brunch on Sunday with approx 12 girls for the all you can drink for $15, which was totally worth it. The food wasn't exceptional, but for the price wasn't too bad. We shmoozed our waiter a little bit and definitely got a little extra out of the all you can drink, which was great. the venue isn't exactly stellar but for a large group they are quite accommodating. Considering we were such a large group the service was exceptional and timely. I would recommend it for larger gatherings when people are concerned about prices, otherwise it's nothing spectacular.

Must see and be seen yet private and great food and the white Sangria is terriffic. love the Lasangne

I adore this restaurant. This has become my "go to" restaurant this past year. it's one of those places that I feel comfortable bringing anyone to have a great meal in a beautiful place without it being pretentious. It's perfect for a date, for groups, for families, we've done birthday parties, new year's here... really spectacular. The food is consistently delicious and always exceeds my expectations. The service and staff are wonderful and helpful. The drinks are kickin' and the bar tenders are great. I've even met the owner a few times and he's delightful! I'll be going back here again and again!

I was there on a business lunch about a month ago. The bathrooms were filthy (which meant that they where not cleaned the night before), there was construction going on so there was tarp and dust everywhere, a mouse ran across the dining area and the waiter chased it with a broom. He told us it was only a little mouse and that he took care of it. I got up and left before the food arrived.

Numerous reviews stated this place was a 'hot-spot' in Chelsea. I took out of town guests here hoping to show them a good time with a 20-something crowd. Not so. The place was EMPTY and the only guests were in their 50s. I was thoroughly embarrassed to be there after informing my guests this would be a fun place for cocktails and drinks. The food was barely average and it was not worth the money.

Honestly, last night was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a Manhattan restaurant, make that any restaurant, anywhere. We were subjected to the MOST obnoxious server I have ever encountered. He was angry about a table mix-up (the fault of the hostess & manager, not my friends and I), berated us repeatedly, and when he finally deigned to take our order after making us wait 30 minutes, informed the table, "You screwed me." It was outrageous, unbelievable, not to mention HOSTILE. I will never, ever set foot in this place again. If we had not been such a large party we would have left, but it would have been near-impossible finding a place on Halloween night in Chelsea. A tip: Le Zie is infinitely better, and close by...and sans rude Italian servers.
