Too bad really because this restaurant serves good food in a lively and enjoyable setting, but the overall experience is tainted before the meal begins. There is a woman at the captain's stand (just inside the door) who has a real attitude. Note there are two and one is alright but the shorter of the two (dark hair) is an outright bi**h and enough to ruin anyone's appetite. I've had my last meal there.

One of my NYC classics! I came across this Greek tavern-style restaurant when I was in town for Fashion Week and touched own after an exhausting day full of shows and meetings. I was starving and craved some well-cooked simple dinner. Their bartender took my order -char grilled salmon filet over roasted beets and greens with grilled asparagus on the side- and kindly poured me a glass of wine. I was indulging in salty Greek cheese with garlic-roasted ciabatta chips and black olives while waiting for my food. The atmosphere was pleasantly lively - a good mix between friends enjoying a good meal together and businessmen with their clients. The food arrived and was simpl delicious. Buttery-soft salmon with a salty crust and the softest juiciest fillet inside over fine, crisp beets dressed with only olive oil and lemon. The potatoes firm and small and the asparagus just the right kind of crunchy it was the perfect authentic Greek food I had been looking for. I have returned many times ever and have never been disappointed.

Dinner at bar with husband, only 2 others at bar. Bartender completely disinterested and inattentive. Never refilled our glasses of wine from our bottle; let our Pikilia appetizer sit 8+ mins on service bar before tearing himself away from closing tabs that were closed before we arrived; unsure about which dip was on plate; expected us to pick up our app plates so he could set down our entrees; never asked us about our entrees until he cleared the plates; left our appetizer and plates until he cleared entrees; never refilled our water; never spoke to us. Corfu shrimp was flavorless, w/ serving of asparagus I confused w/ chives b/c so slight and spare. I couldn't add enough salt. Husband ordered Plaki - so-so at best. Despite an emptying dining room and 2 of 4 at the bar, the host never spoke to us or looked our way. Won't return. Too many choices out there.

Had a work dinner there last night, and the food is amazing. The zucchini chips and the octopus was fabulous. And they have honey cookies everywhere and you can't stop having them. This greek restaurant is definitely at the top of my list of recommendations!

This restaurant hit all the right spots when wanting a greek in new york. I have been fortunate enough to travel around greece and try the food first hand, this place is right up there and got the flavours just right. Saganaki to start for two is a must and when we went they had salmon as a special, really nice. The bit we loved though is on the bar whilst waiting for your table if you want one you have different cheeses and olives to munch on. Spot on and cant wait to come back.
