I found this place through a web site called Restaurant.com and also Opentable.com and i read the other reviews wriiten here and i dont agree with them at all . I have been here 27 times at least and I love the food. Some times the service is slow but that is ok , because who wants to choke on there food? I dont . Who wants to be rushed ? I would say go and enjoy. I have been going to Puttanesca since 2007 and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM EVER . i WAS JUST THERE FOR MY BIRTHDAY SEPT 30 , 2009 AND I AM GOING BACK AGAIN TONITE OCT 27,2009 WITH MY BROTHER IN LAW AND MY NEPHEW TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTDAY WITH THEM. I WAS THERE ON SEPT 30 WITH MY WIFE AND MY WIFES FRIEND. GO HAVE FUN ITS GREAT. DONT LISTEN THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS THEY ARE NOT TRUE AT ALL.. THANKS DM0619

This a restaurant which must be AVOIDED if you want an enjoyable dining experience. I do not have words to describe the poor level of service. We were seated and for more than 15 minutes nobody approached our table. Then the waiter showed up and wanted our entire order from drinks to main course as if we were in a diner. Another 20 minutes elapsed and our simple drinks order (two beers and a glass of wine showed up). The main course came after 30 minutes and I could not get one person from the wait staff to get us some pepper or cheese to put on top of our pasta. The food is average and the desserts awful. We were celebrating the birthday of a family member and it turned out to be a nightmare. I sincerely belive that management of this restaurant does not give a damn about the customer. Kindly do yourself a favor when you pass this restaurant just keep walking.

I passionately abhor this restaurant. It featured probably the worst service I've seen in years -- and that's no easy feat. The food was the best thing about it -- but that is certainly not a compliment. The unbelievably rude service, dull ambiance and poor value pushed our experience into dreadful territory. This place receives my vote for the worst dining experience in Hells Kitchen, if not all of Manhattan.

I was so disappointed in Puttanesca. From the street, it looks inviting. But that illusion dissolved quickly once we were seated. The service was just so bad and unresponsive, and unnecessarily so. There were plenty of waiters, and the place wasn't that packed. It could have been and should have been much better. We thought the food was decent. Nothing to write home about, as they say, but okay. However, the poor service and mediocre atmosphere far outweighed the so-so food.

Who in 2007 only takes cash and American Express (well...Neiman Marcus I guess)??? They don't even have an ATM in there and you have to go a few doors down to the stinky deli. Was very crowded the night I went, food is your typical Italian $14 pasta dish. The anitpasto misto is huge and a great value though.
