Really really great food, sub-par service

I live right around the corner from a bistro, and tried it for the first time last night. people were coming out of this place with recommendations, and just raving about the food. we were very excited to go in!! our octopus salad was delicious, great spices and a very pleasing texture, and came out very quickly. however, shortly after all of the kitchen decided to take a smoke break, before we got out main dishes, and we waited a long time to get our food(whole meal took about 2 hours). the entrees were great. The mussels were the best i've had, and the chicken is just how everyone says, awesome!!! the bread pudding left alot to be desired for $10 i don't think we got any caramel sauce on it. took a long time to get it too, had to flag our server down for the check, and then my friends credit card was charged twice for a split payment. For what the prices are, i wish we had a better experience with the service, but the food was very good.

When I am feeling the need to indulge in the most tasteful meal in the borough of Brooklyn, and possibly NYC, I high tail it over to Abistro. You will not be disappointed. I am a fan of the Senegalese chicken! Spread the word.

This is such a fun little nook of a place. No sign that we saw, just a charming white exterior just below Myrtle. You may get stuck hanging out in the slightly cramped "snuggle" corner, aka behind a sectional at the door, for a little while cause it gets packed but it's worth the wait. (I had to shout over the music once in a while, but the staff is cool and will turn it down if asked nicely.) We ordered all specials - hangar steak sandwich, omelet with jumbo lump crab, and eggs benedict w/ smoked salmon - such BIG and unique flavor. Lot of spice (not too spicey!) and Asian tastes. You should check the prices of specials, but the value is fantastic for the quality and quantity of food. And you can't beat BYOB. A total neighborhood spot. I freaking love Fort Greene...

A group of 7 of us ventured to Abistro from Manhattan and thought the trek was totally worth it! The great service and yummy food was continually discussed during the meal. The trout and the mussels were highlights and the prices were reasonable.

Abistro has maybe the world's best hamburger. The wait staff is so warm and inviting, you think you're with friends. I love this restaurant! It's perfect for brunch. It's like light soul food. We were seated with no problems. The food did take a while, but we enjoyed good conversation with the ower, waitress and host while we sipped their amazing coffee! Everything there is yummy goodness. I have no idea about what seasonings they use, I just know it's unique and tastey. I think it should be a critic's pick.

Words cannot explain how delicious the food is! By far the best restaurant I have ever been to...ever! But it is not only the food (even if it was it would be more than worth it) it is everything about the place. It is the atmosphere, it is the people, I would move in if I could :) My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary, Valentines Day, we have brought friends and family, I think everyone should experience such perfection!

So happy to see this place open near my apartment and love the fact that it's BYOB. Ordered the mussels which many were unopened, rubbery and long dead. The salmon entree was ok but they forgot the artichokes. This could be a great place, but with only 1 server and 1 chef they both tend to get weeded and the food/service suffers.

To be quite honest, after my first dining experience at Abistro, I didn't want to tell anyone about it. Not because it was bad, but because it was so GOOD!!! I wanted to have a spot to go to that only I knew about, but after some consideration, I told everyone I knew. Food this amazing should be shared. The dishes are well seasoned and the flavors are like a tantalizing treat for your palate. The food is filling without being heavy. You must try the mussels. You'll want to drink the sauce, believe me!!! Don't leave without indulging in the bread pudding...oh, my God...I think it's time for a well deserved trip to Abistro. Tell Abdoul & Cassandra, I sent you. They are such a beautiful couple. They make you feel like your dining in their home. ENJOY!!!
