Beware of the sausage

Adrienne's used to be my #1 for their sausage pizza, but they changed their style where the sausage is now cut into large chunks that are too heavy for the pizza itself and almost feels like you're chewing on rubber.

shockingly bad service

We made a reservation for a birthday party and when we arrived they told us then had no reservation. After inquiring why we couldn’t sit at the large open table, we were eventually told we could, and then told we couldn't (someone the host clearly new came in and wanted it). Eventually we were given a table and ordered. We ordered two pizzas, each with one topping, and they got our order wrong. A manager or someone said he'd get us another pizza, so we waited more for that. When we told our waitress, she shrugged and walked away. At the end of the night we tried to give the birthday girl cupcakes and were told we would be charged. I know that many places have a plate fee, but after losing our reservation and screwing up or order you'd think they might waive it. The pizza is good, but not worth the rudeness.

Go during off times, and you'll do fine

After reading the other reviews, I was surprised that so many had had bad service. Could it be the time that you were going? This place gets pretty busy during lunch and right after work, since it's in the heart of the financial district. However, if you go after 7 pm, or on a weekend, you should have a much better time. The pies are hot, crispy and flavorful, particularly the potato and rosemary. I really enjoying hitting this place right before taking the Staten Island Ferry home, since it's only a 3 minute walk away.

I don't recommend the place, you can find many pizza restaurants in NY with much better service.

The hostess here is probably the least logical and rudest person I've ever encountered at a restaurant. I used to work in the industry as well - in the very same job - and I know how annoying hostessing can be. But the service we received today was totally uncalled for and frankly, just plain stupid. Do you think yelling at your customers in front of a crowded room is going to help you retain customers? Geez.

I had the best time of my life at this restaurant. I've been here with my wife on a date, and out with all of my grand children. It is perfect for kids, and even better for adults.

The pizza here is good, as are the salads, but the service is slow, condescending and, frankly, rude. Believe it or not, in response to our (second) request for the check, the server actually told us to "F**k off." Even more maddening is the manager's response when we told him what happened - he asked us what prompted the server to make that remark, and implied that some action of ours was probably deserving of such treatment. It's really is a shame because I'll miss the pizza, but I just can't support a place that would subject paying customers to such abuse.

I work only a block away from Adrienne's Pizza Bar. It became a regular thing to go at least twice a week with my co-workers for pizza. However, the last time I went to Adrienne's I had a horrible experience. After paying the check, not even a minute passed and we were told to leave because there were people waiting for our table. I was in shock. This is completely unacceptable no matter the wait. I can understand if we were there for hours but we were barely there a half hour. I will no longer be spending my lunch break at Adrienne's Pizza Bar.
