Rude, Inconsiderate, Poorly managed

We made reservations at Angelo's for a party of 4 a week in advance and they just took our name, time and party size and hung up the phone. When we showed up to the pretty crowded entrance of people waiting to be seated (some without reservations), we sent one of the gentlemen to the front to check in as we were right on time. He was told he didn't have a reservation at all and shooed away and ignored. We sent the Italian member of our group up who speaks Italian and he was immediately acknowledged by the host in Italian. After a bit of Italian, the host asked us to hold on just one second. He turned back and said we were all set, just which reservation should he cross off. Somehow on the loose leaf piece of paper, our name wasn't listed, so he said it didn't seem to be on there. We produced the phone record showing our call to the restaurant and they wouldn't even look at the phone, fully knowing it was their fault. The host tried to tell us he didn't work on Mondays (the night he assumed we called which was actually a Tuesday so he had been there). The host was rude and not at all considerate at even offering to have us wait or to see what he could do. Instead, he turned to us and said, "what do you expect me do, I have all these people" and would not speak to us again. The place was completely crowded and poorly managed and we were happy not to be rushed and crammed through dinner. We will never return.

A trip to NYC would not be complete without a dinner at Angelo's

I was up in NYC back in December for just 36 hours. But had to make a stop at one of my favorite restaurants, Angelo's in Little Italy. My first visit was in 1989 and my 2nd was in 1994 with a 2 New York natives. From the time you walk in, you feel like you are in Italy. The service is impeccable and they treat you like you are their first priority! The food on all my visits have been melt in your mouth good!! I would recommend sitting in the back rooms if you prefer some privacy. Anytime that I get a chance to go up there, I will always visit Angelo's!!

Don't visit NYC without Dining Here

This was my second visit here. Our party of 6 included 2 native new New Yorkers who had not been to Angelo before. From the first sip to the last bite, this incredibly vibrant and decadent establishment is so full of Italian American charm that we left feeling we had a religious experience. The staff is amazing. The food is an adventure. I was taken with the local regulars dining like they were at Nonna's. The total experience will stay with you for a long time. I am a business traveler and I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great place to entertain a customer or impress a first date. Peter in Milwaukee

Mmmm Mmmm Good

I was visiting NYC for the very first time and native New Yorkers took me to Angelo's. All I can say is that the review above is spot on. The food isn't your average touristy trap, it's excellent, melt-in-your-mouth, cuisine(I ordered the filet mignon and veal with fried zucchini). My dinner party ordered several different dishes, since they are rather large, and we sampled each others, which is something I recommend. The service was excellent and the atmosphere, perfection. We sat outside and soaked in Little Italy, a bit hot, but stop by one of the vendors while en route and purchase a hand fan! If I ever head to New York again, I know where I'll be dining at least once. :o)
