What an amazing meal! Finally a hyped restaurant lived up to its reputation! A lot of the dishes are "adventurous," but an incredibly tasty and "normal" meal is certainly possible. I had steamers to start and spaghettini w/ 1lb lobster as my entree. Both wonderful! The service was warm and the atmosphere was formal, without being pretentious. My entire party had a great time. Next week I'm trying Lupa--I hope it's just as good.

Mario flawlessly delivers his own interpretation of modern Italian cooking using only the highest quality seasonal ingredients balanced with bold spices and flavor combinations you won't find any place else. Never over the top- but always original. Make sure to order anti pasti, primi and secondi - like they do in Italy! Love letters pasta is a personal favorite.

I have been there many times, some great some really disastrous, with those prices, I just don't want to take a chance again.

I had a bad meal at Babbo. My pasta was so oily, i could not eat it, beacause it kept slipping away. Everything from our appetizers to the desserts were average at best. Having lived in Italy, I was excited to go, and left highly disppointed. This restaurant simply did not come close to the hype. But everyone I know who has eaten there has loved it, so perhaps it is worth another try.

Babbo is the best all around italian place in the city. From the creative dishes and wines to the old favorites, everything is exquisite. The laid back atmosphere and attentive service only further serve to make dinning here like an evening of heaven on earth.

this place is amazing -- if you're willing to eat animal faces. lamb's tongue salad, beef cheek ravioli, and pasta amatriciana (pig jowls) ended my vegetarian days.

Since my wife's name is Bobbie, we decided to try Babbo. The food though a little too wild to be a regular here, we did love the food. And when Mario clomped past my table I had to shake his hand. We will be back, but not too often

From savory chickpea bruschetta to the infamous beef-cheek ravioli, Mario's molto interested in blowing your mind with creativity and cleverness with his high-rolling, rib-sticking peasant fare. The lovingly crafted pasta, succulent meats, delicate vegetable balances, and lambent finishes will seductively educate most, and delight the already sophisticated. Bonus for single women: When I beat my companions to the restaurant, I had a drink at the bar, and even though I wasn't dressed like a glamapuss, the debonair host and gentle bartender made me feel like one.

Although it took almost a month to get an 8pm reservation, it was definitely worth the wait to eat at Babbo. The pasta tasting menu that we tried almost had me in tears with the fluffiness of the pastas and the complex richness of the sauces. Being a French wine snob, I was also very impressed by the bottle of Emiglia-Romana wine recommended by the sommelier. A very pleasant dining experience, which I hope to repeat in the near future!
