I just tried the UES Barking Dog and really enjoyed it. When I came online to write my review I was very surprised by all the negative reviews. I had a perfect wrap and my friend had a burger that she said was great. We liked the laid back casual atmosphere. Our server, Lilly was friendly and attentive. Definitely plan on coming back.

I live across the street so I am well acquainted with this place. I wanted to like this place but over time I've realized the food is extremely hit or miss. I had a fruit salad which was totally rancid, chicken soup which tasted like it was canned, a cheesecake that came frozen solid, screwed up orders, etc. The worst part about it is that the staff does NOTHING to remedy these kinds of situations. You as a customer, and not them, are held accountable for any dissatisfaction you may have. They'll never fess up and certainly will never swap an order out even if it sucks. The "server" will look at you with dead eyes and shrug it off and go giggle about it with coworkers* They just really don't give two sh**s and they should considering they're in the service industry. * I'm speaking from personal experience. I'm not going to exaggerate. Their food isn't awful but their attitude and way of running things is shoddy and respect for their customers is nil. Really wishing something better pops up nearby...

I live in the neighborhood and often stop in for breakfast & lunch. I am always greeted by smiling faces from a very friendly staff. The food is delicious and so are their pomogranite mimosas! I always make sure to bring visiting friends and family to this cute dog themed spot.

The food is mediocre. I wonder why anyone bothers to eat at this place given the number of choices in the neighborhood. Oh, and the owner, one of the rudest I have seen in the restaurant business in the city.

I go there quite often simply because I live next door.Every time I go there I see different waiters and waitresses which is not so good for their image.I don't understand what the management is thiking and speaking of management, they have a manager who berely speaks 2 words in English she is the one who manages the place. The manager should be able to speak well and explain things to customers if they have quetions. This woman has absolutely no idea what to say. The other day I went there with my daughter and family members,I was waitting for my husband to get there. The place was almost empty and "the manager" did not give us a table. I did not undersand what she was saying, then a waittress explained to me that "the whole party" had to be there in order to get a table. Is this a service? I understand when they are busy, they can't give tables unless everyone is there, but in that case the place was empty and they made us wait until my husband got there.Good job!!!! You guyes, your management sucks!!!

Awful. Ordered an egg white veggie omelette which I thought was impossible to screw up. One of the ingredients was rancid, although I couldn't tell which one. When I complained, the management insisted everything was fine, although the manager couldn't be bothered to tell me himself. They charged me the full bill and sent me on my way. I'm just hoping I don't get sick . . .

I thought I would come back to The Barking Dog because I recalled enjoying brunch there. I was proved otherwise. The service was slow and unreliable, and the food was, well, blah. My Belgian Waffles were cold and sent back. The 2nd try at the waffles were semi-warm, missing powdered sugar, and had little to no flavor. My boyfriend ordered pancakes which were luke-warm and tasted worse when smothered in ice-cold maple syrup. When he asked for butter, well, it came about the same time as the check and was hard as a rock. I wish we had stayed home this morning.

This ******one of the worst restaurants for service****** I have ever been to. After being seated outside, we place our order. After 40 minutes and 2 complaints to the hostess, I finally got my cup of coffee. 20 minutes later, and another complaint, finally got our food. Two tables of 2's who were seated after us, had already been served. When I mentioned this to the hostess, I was told they only had 1 cook. He was doing 2's "because it eas easier'. Maybe they should have split us up. ****This is only for those who have huge amounts of patience, in their retirement years with no place else to go and not being hungry****. Find someplace else.

The Barking Dog is a very popular neighborhood spot. Cute waitresses work the bar while the hostess shmoozes the customers. Great cost effective steak, burger on foccacia bread... Its all gravy at Barking Dog.

Barking dog is a good affordable neighborhood staple. A much better option than overpriced diners for a salad or sandwich.
