I will NEVER return. The atmosphere is great and very romanticÂ… would be a great place for a date. That is, if your date doesnÂ’t eat. Aside from my salad the entire meal was awful. I had the misfortune of ordering the risotto with seared sea scallops. The risotto was dry and carried the taste of Uncle BenÂ’s rice. The scallops were obviously not fresh and honestly was the worst stab at seafood I have ever consumed. Next, the mushrooms were certainly canned and while I can perhaps excuse poor quality seafood, edible mushrooms can even be purchased at Food Emporium. The final thing that put me over the edge was my expresso to accompany dessert. Not really the quality, but its absence. Our desert arrived at our table after a sluggish 20 minutes and finally when the check hit our tableÂ… the absent expresso was certainly on the bill. I must say, when I pointed at the mistake the waiter did remove the charge for the dessert (and the expresso), but overall I was severely disappointed. This was the worst meal I have had in New York City; this includes a comparison to Wok n Roll.

I've come here 5 times now and it is long overdue that I give barmarche the credit it deserves as a fabulous restaurant that is perfect for any situation. I've come here on a business dinner, on a date, and twice with family members. The cuisine is different, creative, and absolutely delicious. The salmon tartare is a must, as well as the bass taquitos. The scallops are excellently prepared with a demi-glaze reduction and for meat lovers the lamp chops and sirloin steak are buttery and tender. I don't think I've ever seen 'churros' anywhere not from a street vendor, but please don't leave without trying these. The service could not have been better. This is officially my favorite restaurant.

i love barmarche! living right down the street, it is the perfect place for a great dinner and a nice bottle of wine with my sweetie on that random tuesday night when we want to relax and enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. it is also the place i go with my girlfriends to enjoy the fabulous cocktails - they lead to long nights of chatting and drinking - and the staff is always nice enough to let us laugh a little too loud and enjoy.

Had to wait 40 minutes for entrees.
All portions are small including $11 salad. Wild mushroom risotti was only one scoop-not enough to eat. Grilled Salmon heavily favored with garlic. No bread provided...waiter forgot? Waiter didn't even have courtesy to come out and explain delay. It wasn't like it was busy...there was more staff than customers. Staff more interested in each other than customers. Sorry I didn't leave after the salad.

Accidentally stumbled upon this place. What a find! Food is spectacular, service is attentive, decor and ambience warm and inviting. The cocktail list is fantastic. Try their Acai Mimosa and non-alcoholic Acai ginger drinks made with Amazon Mania Acai (www.amazon-mania.com). You will keep coming back for more. Their brunch is unparallelled.

Barmarche has an amazing atmosphere - crisp white everything, candlelight dancing, drippy chandeliers get a downtown feel when wrapped in Lucite boxes... it's a visual feast to say nothing yet of the delicious food.
We started with the lemonade-watermelon-vodka cocktail on the summer drink menu that we unanimously decided should be renamed "summer in a glass." It's that good and reminiscent of lazy outdoor summer days.
On to a 9 course tasting menu - amazing presentation, description and just beautiful flavors. Black West Indies Tuna with Vanilla Basil topped it for me!
Barmarche has a great vibe, is beautiful, unpretentious and delicious.

The food is good, but nothing exceptional. The lighting/decor is just way too bright and stark. Nothing impressive from the service to the menu, everything is just way average. Maybe I am sad for the departure of Liebowitz.

I went last Saturday night for the first time to find out what the buzz was all about. We had six people in my group and we had a great time. The seats are a little close but the food and drinks made up for it. We will be going back again because it is rare in NYC that you can have such a good overall meal and not feel like you were taken to the cleaners.Thumbs up to this new little gem. I will be telling my friends about this place.

Went Sat night with my husband to find out what the hype is all about. We live in the Noilita area and pass it all the time. We were seated after about a 15 min wait. That was ok because we went to the bar and had a drink. The food was very good. I had the Crab cakes and my husband had the strip steak. The whole night was very nice good service and good food and good drinks what more can you ask for. The only think that I could say neg about Barmarche is that the tables are real close to each other but it is a small place. I will be going back.
