Popped in last night late on recommendation -- didn't know anything about Becco in advance. Plenty of food, adequate though average. Overdressed (though tasty) Caesar, bland tomato sauce, barely detectable sage and butter in the sage and brown butter sauce -- you get the idea. $25 wine list a great gimmick. Charming room.

Went to Becco for a company dinner. Had reasonably high expectations as this is supposedly an in-demand restauarant. before a show. Bottom line, it was a very average to below-average experience. Our group of 30 was served "family style". No better than any strip mall Italian restaurant. Pasta was bland and undercooked. Beef was fatty and, again, average. Appetizers were plain and boring. I really don't get it..

The decor is cozy. The wait staff is knowledgable, patient and pleasant. The food is to die for and for a great price. I ordered the veal ossobuco which was delectable and it came with a complimentary ceasar salad; rarely do fine dining restaurants offer anything complimentary. I will go back every chance I get.

...except for an extraordinarily rude wait staff. My friend ordered the neverending pasta dish, and I ordered Mussels. When my friend asked for a refill of her pasta dish, the Maitre D condescendingly muttered that we really were "cheating" as she saw me sample a ravioli from my friends plate. I was so taken aback- I asked this woman why I couldn't have a sample, and she pointed to my mussels and said rudely, "You only ordered an appetizer. no sharing." It was so bizarre and disheartening. We're never going back again in case we run into that awful Maitre D.

My favorite place to take my parents when they come from South Carolina, especially before the theatre. Big, delicious portions, large, inexpensive wine list (look at the back of the menu), no reservations required (maybe a small wait).

Becco was recommended by some friends and we had a great dinner. Pasta was spot on, meat dishes great, desserts grand. Wine list a great value. Service was very good, and the girls liked the ambience. Whats not to like here? Great value - we are fans!!!

Took my family for lunch today, I have been coming here for 10 years. Service from waiter (Daniel #287) was very poor, almost like we were a bother. My children's pasta lunches (plain pasta with butter) was $13.50. That's just piggish. My draft beer, which I think was 8 ounces, was $7.00. Yes, I know I'm in NYC, but the prices seem a tad on the unreasonable side. Pasta special were bland as well. Perhaps many of the reviews are on point, I didn't think so before today. The other service staff was excellent, I hope they at least got tipped out well. $150.00 total for our lunch for 4. To much for what we ended up getting.

Two visits and both highly satisfactory. Absolutely spot on food served by knowledgable, pleasant staff. Meatballs and pasta excellent. Not difficult to see why this restaurant was packed and 20 others locally had staff in the street trying to get customers. Cant wait to go back, hope they keep up this standard.

I enjoyed the baked shrimp , The $25.00 wine selection is pretty good. I have been there twice and will go back .
