After reading a review, we were enticed by the author's favorite dish of Butcher's Spaghetti. We were offended. Overcooked thin pasta with the tiny bits of pork sausage lumped in pile that resembled something out of a can . Bland beyond belief. Ravioli with Fois Gras that was soaked and swimming in butter was no better. And one sausage with some "imported" beans on the side for $11 was ridiculous. Come on. The waiter was very nice but seldom seen. I wouldn't go here if someone else paid the bill.

Words cannot describe how damn good the food is here! I'm what you would call a "regular" here and surprisingly the food never gets old and is consistently remarkable! I cannot tell you my favorite dish because they are all equally delightful, however, I will say that the fries are out of this world! The staff is always super friendly and attentive to my every need! One taste and you will be hooked... I guarantee it!

We went last night, excellent bartender who took care of all our needs as we ate at the bar, great pours on the drinks classy demeanor,,try the tuscan platter on the appetizer menu, homemade charcuterie was delicious,,homemade fig, jam,or preserve?,served with it was a nice touch.....a bit pricey though

The food and atmosphere of the restaurant were spectacular. There was a vast variety of food and everything was seasoned to perfection.

Had a very bad meal at Beppe, overly simplified food, not cooked well, a few good pasta but thats it. Pork chops over cooked, steak too small, not enough seasoning on any dises except pasta. Service was OK, wine list interesting and reasonably priced. Owners should get back there ASAP, they must be at there new place now, it shows. Never going back. I heard this place was comparable to Mario Batali, what a joke.

From the moment we walked in, it reminded me of Tuscany. The food was as good as my Grandmother's and I can't wait to bring my parents!! The wine was Fantastic as well.

The exterior is adorable, bringing a Tuscan country feel to the heart of Manhattan. The greeting was warm. After starting with a bellini (proseco and fresh peaches), we ordered an assortment of appetizers. At something like $9-$11 each, I found the portions small. Descriptions were more appealing than the actual dishes. The octopus "salami" was rather tasteless. Zucchini flowers stuffed with something were cute, but miniscule and though better than the other appetizers, nothing outstanding. We moved on to chicken (totally overwhelmed with rosemary) surrounded by wishy washy, tasteless potatoes. The salad had so much tarragon, I actually winced and sent it back. They accommodated our request for olive oil to accompany the bread and that was excellent. The dessert, the pan a cotta, with a few berries was better than the meal had been. Espresso, too, was good. For the three of us the bill was $150 (and that was with only one drink, tap water, two main courses, one dessert and perhaps 4 or 5 appetizers). We were not stuffed. The heavy handedness of the seasoning made the dishes truly unpleasant. And I thought the prices were high for what we got.

So many friends, many of whom work for food magazines recommended this restaurant. We went with high expectations and were sorely disppointed by the thoughtless, rude waiter waiting on us. The food was less interesting than expected and the wine list left a lot to be desired. With so many great Italian restaurants in NYC why put up with attitude and a mediocre experience???

fantastic meal... the food was out of this world. the octopus appetizer was delicous, followed by the branzini, it made a tasty, yet healthy meal. the service was attentive and mr.casella even came to our table, with herbs in pocket, to greet us. the wine list is one of the best i've seen. i would recommend this restaurant whole-heartedly to anyone who has an understanding of the complexity of flavor without being overwhelming.
