Anti Baby policy - horrible service
By falcor on 7/26/2009
After ordering our food we asked for a high-chair for our baby but were denied saying they have a policy not to provide high-chairs. We said, fine, can we use the stroller instead, and they said, no, the policy does not allow strollers inside. We asked to cancel the order and the waitress refused and said we are giving her hard time. The waitress and the hostess were rude, and their refusal to cancel the order was amazing. I've never had such a bad experience in any restaurant in the upper east, and I've been eating out quite a lot. Just because of this horrible service - STAY AWAY! Parents - dont waste your time.
Can't be beat!

This is by far one of my favorite UES restaurants, and one of the best Turkish restaurants in the city. The prices are unheard of and the service is great. Everything I've ever ordered is delicious, but the bread they bring to the table is phenomenal! If it's nice outside definitely try dining al fresco - so nice! The decor is really fantastic. The only downfall is that everyone is discovering just how good this place is, so if you don't want to wait go early, or go late! Expect about a 20 minute wait if you go around 7:00pm.

Beyoglu has a consistently relaxing and festive atmosphere, and outstanding food. I recommend the fresh fish and the spinach with dill.

Beyoglu is the most dependable spot on the Upper East Side to have a relaxing and wonderful meal.

I ate at Beyoglu last night and loved the food. The service was excellent. I wanted to order the whole fish special but I was concerned about the bones. The waitress offered to bone it herself and she did a wonderful job. The fish was delicious. I am looking forward to coming back.

Beyoglu is one of my favorite restaurants in New York, and one of a very few reasons I ever trek up to the Upper East Side. It is well worth the long haul up to 81st street. The prices are good, and the food is even better. A great place for both large groups, and intimate dinners. I highly reccommend it as a date spot. The fish is always good, especially paired with one of their Turkish white wines (I believe the one I love starts with a K... the waitstaff is always helpful as I stumble to try and find it on the menu). Although you may have to wait if you haven't made a reservation, it is New York, so that should be nothing new... Also, although the tables may get turned around fast once vacated (a plus for anyone waiting for that table) I have never felt rushed to finish my meal, or leave my table. Basically, I highly reccomend this place to anyone.
Cheap and Delicious

Great list of Meze's - avg. price $4.00 - everything from hummus to sardines wrapped in grape leaves. Service attentive & pleasant - no rushing. Ate on quieter 2nd floor - windows opened on a warm summer night. Overall very good food and service. Dinner for 4 (one drink, 2 bottles San Pel., 1 iced tea) including 6 meze's and 4 main courses a bit over 100 bucks.
Terrific Upper East Side Turkish

Whether you're noshing on the appetizers (meze), the delicious tomato/cucumber salad, the best eggplant relish anywhere or devouring the yogurt/garlic soup, you'll immediately recognize you're in for a treat. There isn't an enormous selection of main courses, but you're sure to be okay with the grilled fish or lamb kebab. Everything is nicely done and reasonably priced. In warm weather the doors and windows open to the outside, so it's pleasant and airy. Their bread is fabulous! Dinner should run in the low $30 range, a good choice for this neighborhood.
Don't miss this one!

Great dining experience! I don't know what the reviewers are talking about that didn't like it. The food was fresh and delicious, the service impeccable, the decor was interesting, and the price was almost too reasonable. Maybe it's better during the week than on weekends, i.e. less busy. We loved it and can't wait to go back with friends. This is the first time I've felt compelled to write in- to offset some of the negative reviews. I'm glad I didn't listen to them!
