But how's the food?, Sure we all like to feel we made a good choice at choosing a certain restaurant when as we walk in we see the likes of Sean Penn, Eric Clapton, Nicolas Cage, Tony Danza, Andy Rooney, Giorgio Armani or Michael Bloomberg, very recently spotted there. But how was the Dinning experience? Delicious! The menu is traditional Milanese and conservatively simple, I sometimes crave this sort of food, it's like Milanese comfort food, granted the Milanese like extraordinary quality. Here you get it all perfectly served. It's very busy for a reason. Good food, good service (quite discrete) prices... well no matter, it's worth it.

I couldn't get a menu, I couldn't get a waiter, and the manager had attitude when I asked for a waiter. A simple "I'm sorry for the delay" would have made everything all better, but instead the manager just looked at me like he was God's gift to restaurant management. For the overpriced dishes, I would at the very least have expected a greeting from a waiter within 15 minutes. I finally walked out without ordering.

Feels like you are in Italy, especially on a nice night when you can eat outside. Just very overpriced on all fronts, making you feel like you should be eatting across from some famous tourist attraction, vs. midtown office space. However, it is often packed. Nice varied selection of entrees and appetizers, plus specials. Everything tastes good, and seems fresh. I thought the service was very old world.

We went to Bice for dinner during the Summer 2007 restaurant week. The minestrone and ravioli were overly average. A clear taste of ANY of the ingredients was not possible. The overall effect was not unlike that which you get after eating prepared supermarket fare. The desserts were average. Most amazing were the prices on the regular menu which were inflated well beyond the (crowded?) room. I felt like I was at Olive Garden in Times Square. SI am not exaggerating.

Bice is a wonderful restaurant, as are it siblings elsewhere in the world and its parent in Milano. It has a great menu, food with great ingredients and preparation, and wonderful service. The room has an understated luxury. Everything is perfect, except it is wildly overpriced. This does not seem to inhibit a full dining room of customers at lunch and most nights. If it would reduce prices to other comparable places, it would be highly recommended.
