Great place to take the folks

I'm a Columbia student and take my parents to Bistro Ten 18 every time they visit. We absolutely love everything about the restaurant - the food, the wine, the staff. Definitely at the top of my list.

Delicious Food, Lovely Spot

I was at Columbia University for a conference and snuck away to grab some dinner with a few associates. We came across Bistro Ten 18, and it was exactly what we were looking for. The food was delicious, yet not overpriced. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather, but the inside of the restaurant was very cozy and comfortable. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered. I definitely plan on going back next year!

Great discovery on the UWS

I just moved to Morningside Heights and have discovered this great neighborhood Bistro. I expect my friends and I will become regulars here pretty quickly. The food was fresh and interesting - also a good value. It isn't cheap, but not expensive either. There is a good range of prices on the menu. I splurged on the lamb chop special one night, which was delicious I was there again last night and had the mussels and a green bean and chickpea salad with fresh herb and feta, which was perfect for a sunday night meal. the wines are interesting and the bartender was nice enough to give me a taste of two offered by the glass, so I could choose the one I liked best. I'll definitely be back and will bring friends - especially the skeptical ones from downtown who think the UWS has nothing to offer in the way of restaurants.

My Cure for the Mediocre Food Blues

I recently moved from The Village to the Upper Westside and had been suffering from the lack of good restaurants in my new neighborhood. When I stumbled into The Bistro Ten18, I found a cure for my mediocre food blues. The evening was off to a great start when the charming bartender recommended a delicious Oregon pinot noir. I ordered the rack of lamb and was blown away by the quality of the preparation, it was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was tasty but not over powering. The service was sharp, warm and knowledgeable. I cleaned my plate, stayed for desert and began a satisfying bi-weekly relationship. I highly recommend checking out the Bistro Ten18; you won't be disappointed and when you return you'll see many familiar faces because those who go, go back.

A home away from home - or at least my "kitchenette"

Bistro Ten 18 is by far my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. the food is great - and priced well enough that i can afford it. The bar is perfect for weeknights - there is always a a handful of people dining at the bar and the bartendeer seems to know how to get the conversation rolling between us all. The wine list is great and there is always something special that the owner has discovered and is offering by the glass (often they'll give you a taste before hand too!). I have brought a friend or two in for brunch and they have all been impressed - because they didn't realize there is actually good food north of 14th street. i was appalled by the other reviews I read - as I couldn't have had an experience further from the ones described. Bistro Ten 18 is an excellent find and i couldnt reccomend it more!

Disappointing!

We arrived looking forward to a decent meal, but we were sorely disappointed. At first, we were seated quickly as there were several seats available outside. After being seated, an noticeable amount of grime was left on our table. Not thinking much about the grime, we just wiped it off ourselves. Following the seating we looked through the menus and were very surprised about how pricey the food dishes were but thought they were worth trying. After ordering, the wait was longer than expected but the food wasn't worth it. For an example, the "special" (Market fish with minimal veggies) was no more than mediocre and not a lot of it for a high price at $28.00. The taste was poor. Other dishes in our seating were in the same range of quality with an even greater price tag. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was a let down and we will not be returning.

Charmingly Comfortable

Having eaten at this restaurant for over two years I can give one word in which to expect: Consistancy. The food is savory, elegant and worth the moeny. Get to know the family, they'll be mroe than happy to give you personalized options on wine to pare with your first, main and dessert courses. I would love to challange the other reviewers to try this find again and see if they can muster the same complaints.

Over an hour and a half wait for our delivery and still no news. All the manager could do upon complaining was yell and hang up the phone. Pretty ridiculous...
