Iron Horses are lucky
By props34 on 11/23/2009
If you're wondering what to do or where to go on a first date, you can't do much better than a place like this. The place is not pretentious, but it's not grungy either. The noise level was perfect, the music was nice. We had delicious wedge salads and tasted several beers we'd never had before. The bartender was very knowledgeable about them. But nothing could have prepared us for the burgers. The bartender recommended the iron horse so we each ordered one. We were both blown away. We stayed for a few more beers actually talking about how much we loved the burger. Thanks iron horse and Black Iron staff. AWESOME!!!

Craft beer, juicy burgers, and all smiles. Went there for a quick burger but ended up staying longer then expected. Music range is amazing, obviously some serious music heads. It might not be your kinda of spot if your into pretenious new york styled resturants. Very low key, atmosphere is warm and subtle. Read a review where people are upset because "it smells like grease"...well dumbass, there is a grill 5 feet from you pumping out delicious-ness. Nay sayers can just stay away from my diamond in the rough.
Franko (Raouls Bartender) has a NY fixture on his hands!!!

Didnt know the bartender from "Raouls" is one of the owners!! No wonder the place has great old NY appeal and delicious food. Went with two burger fiends who have covered nearly all burger spots in NYC and found the total expierence to be simply perfect!! Juicy burger, crispy fries and tasty beer on tap. Its become our regular burger stop.

Seeing the other reviews makes me realize the patrons must have been there at an "off moment." I frequent the burger joint and couldn't agree less. LOVE the falafel burger (as I am a veggie gal) and my hubby loves the selection of burgers. Awesome sides. Great place to sit and have a burger and a beer at a low price and catch up with friends!
time to find new staff

Walked in on Saturday, and asked for a menu. The waiter was more concerned with his Matthew Broderick sighting and seemed completely put out/annoyed that I inquired about the food. Clearly, the management needs to find better employees. Also, they need a ventilation system: The whole place was smoked up.
Teach the waitress how to wait tables...

I get it -- burgers, fries, beer -- easy? no, apparently not -- had to ask for a second beer when mine was empty, sat with my finished plate for at least 15 minutes, until we stacked the plates, and the 4, yes, 4 beer glasses (we were two people), and then still took 3-5 minutes before she noticed we were finished. Please keep in mind there are approximately 6 tables in the entire place. She then cleared our table, asked us if we wanted anything else -- our answer, "no, thank you." Again, 5 more minutes, while she watched the television, sipped her soda, and then asked again, can I get you anything else? Uh - didn't we already tell you? Finally, she came to take the check, but at seeing our credit card on the table, followed it with, "Ah, it's cash only..." Fine, but nowhere did it say in the menu or establishment door, or, you would think maybe, possibly, while leaving our check? Seriously... in times like this, you need to make your establishment reputable -- so sad. Good food -- terrible, terrible service.
