One of my favorite restaurants in the city. A memorable meal and experience, and perfect for celebrating something with a party of two or four. An intimate, warm setting with incredible food. I haven't been anywhere like it.

I always love this place. I have been here about a dozen times, and I always love it-- for dessert, for dinner, or for a snack. The service is great, the food is delicious, and I always enjoy my experience there. The restaurant is a bit expensive for what you get, but the quality of the food is great, it's prepared deliciously, and it's a comfy and airy location. LOVE IT!

It is not overrated-- this is a great restaurant w/ fabulous food, fresh ingredients, an interesting menu, and comfortable atmosphere. It is expensive, but it is also delicious. I have been to this spot at least a half-dozen times over the years, and I'm always very pleased and excited about going back!

Like the other BR's in the city, this one doesn't take reservations. For weekend brunch, the best thing to do is to show up ~11:20am and you're pretty much gaurenteed seating when they open at 11:30. For dinner, the best thing to do is be prepared to wait although there's a BR wine bar right across the street to kill the time. Onto the food... the appetizer menu is very very extensive and arguably, most of it is worth sampling. Two of my favorites are the garlic shrimp with chorizo and mushroom ravioli. The market salad is super fresh and almost a perfect blend of veggies. The service can be rushed at times, but who can fault them given the standing crowd that is usually gathered by the door.

I don't get the fuss. Aside from its ambience -- which really is charming -- the experience was forgettable. Or I'm trying to, anyway. The waiter was uninformed (the salmon ravioli he told us we were eating turned out to be lobster), the service was slow, and the food was uninspired, heavy-handed, and overpriced. My pregnant friend literally got a plate of undressed greens from a bag for $12. I had a lump of sea bass over a flood of cheese sauce. 4 asparagus went for $15. The bread is delish, and the bakery, a delight, but it took forever to arrive (it wasn't a busy night). I'm happy to shell out -- Jean-George and Mas Farmhouse deserve it -- but not this place. The desserts are fun, but about as inventive as Baskin Robbins. Go there instead.

My favorite place to eat in NYC! EVERYTHING I've had is delicious. I highly recommend the steak sandwich, which is offered on the lunch menu, soooo gooood. The Foie Gras Terrine is a delight. Somehow, whenever we order I think to myself that a cheese plate every time in not necessary, but as it turns out, in fact it is necessary. The quality of the cheeses is apparent every time and oh that honey... Never a difficulty finding a nice bottle of wine to pair with the meal. Overall this establishment has hit the nail on the head. Professional, friendly, and courteous all describe the wait staff. I prefer this location to the other I visited in Soho. Food at Soho lcoation was good, staff in Soho a tad bit lacking, but it could have just been the day. I just can't say enough good about Blue Ribbon.

Very good menu, french but with more interesting americian flair than typical french bistro dishes, the lobster was amazing. It is a very cozy and relaxing place.

Some of the best fish I've ever had. It's a warm setting with a lot of character. I was a bit put off by the prices when I first saw them, but once I tasted it, it was all worth it. You can easily spend $50 per person with drinks. I had the grilled fish and it was divine. It was already deboned and tasted like it was salt roasted. My wife got the lamb kebab which was on special and it was tender, extremely flavorful, and cooked just right (not overdone). We had the grilled sardines for an appetizer and again, some of the most flavorful grilled fish i've ever tasted. This is definitely a great place to take your girlfriend/wife/hubby/better half. And the assortment of breads that they bring out were right up my alley.

The charcuterie plate is amazing...if you are a true lover of cheese and various salami's, you must give this a try. An old haunt, a new perspective every time.
