I went there on my Birthday after great reviews from a past experience. The Jazz band had already almost finished the set my BF did not do the best planning. So we decided to go upstairs to eat. The staff was not welcoming at all yes the place was packed but they all had this mum look on thier faces? We go sat at a table so small we could not fit all the food on the table, there was a mosquito under the table biting me up. And I ordered the so called 12 marinated chicken dry and boring as hell. His Salmon was alright but the squash was squishy. Our waitor was just average and not at all friendly just basically doing his job. I thought the food was going to be at least like this chain called Red Rock but not even close. Get a clue, I would go back with family on a more laid back vibe.

Burgerquest for NYC continues. This place was on someones list so we checked it out. Got there 1145 on a Friday before the crowds came in. Nice looking and friendly staff. Service was quick and polite. The staff smiles here. Ordered burgers with sweet potato fries. Burger was cooked to medium well, medium was what was ordered. My coworker ordered medium rare but got medium well. The burgers were juicy, and tasty. Would have liked them cooked to order. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. Cut like steak fries they were perfectly cooked. 2 bugers with cheese , one with bacon, an iced tea and a coke with sweet potato fries was $38. Food was pretty good, just cook it to order next time. I'll be back to check and try other food.

My girlfriend & I jumped in a taxi last night after the SOHO Art Crawl & said 27th & Park.,(it was time for me to try the Smoke). Happily going with the flow though not getting my hopes up seeing how most establishments restaurants & otherwise are filled with an overwhelming sense of aggressive incompetence I had a great experience! We will be returning for the chipotle wings, corn bread, kc ribs, coleslaw, as well as the iceberg wedge witch the server actually split in the back even when I told him he could just bring it for the table. Everything we ate was quality & piping hot or crispy cold as it should be. We did encounter a different service person for each interaction however all were entertaining, well versed & nice, what a treat. By the way I just finished the ribs for breakfast, great! - Justin Christopher

I really enjoyed the Kansas city spareribs! We waited about a half hour for the table and we got our ribs very fast. The waiters were polite and we didn't have to wait our drinks too long.

Great BBQ. Loved the mac and cheese! Sweet tatters were amazing. The iceberg wedge was really good with REAL blue cheese dressing. (Don't worry... this was not all consumed in one sitting). Wait was long, but the beer was flowing so it was tolerable. Recommend the fried chicken to any real southerners.

Went there for dinner the other night and was severely disappointed. Our food came eerily quickly, it was almost as if someone else had ordered the food, walked out, and the "chef" left our food under the heat lamp. And after taking a bite of the fried chicken this suspicion was absolutely confirmed. In addition to the less-than-average food, we were rushed through the meal and given sub par service throughtout.

I was expecting a lot after all the hype and Best-Ofs and Critic's Picks, but was severely disappointed. My pulled pork lacked any discernible flavor and necessitated a serious dose of sauce to make it at all palatable. The pork tasted as though it had been boiled rather than smoked. The sausage sampler was cold and dull and poorly presented, and the best thing on the plate was the mustard. For decent BBQ, do not go here. Take the trip and go to Fette Sau in Williamsburg. Both your mouth and your wallet will be much happier.

I enjoyed going to this restaurant a few times with my girlfriend. The food was very good both times and we decided to share our find with some friends from work. Unfortunately, when we went with a group unfriendly service ruined our experience. Although we had a reservation the hostess made it clear that we were not particularly welcome. She did not recognize that the reservation even existed until we provided a confirmation number. Once we got our table it was not worth the trouble. I was disappointed to have such a bad experience at a restaurant that I had previously enjoyed and would not recommend eating here with groups of more than four people.

The food can only be described as "Cafeteria Food." Noisy, out of towners, sloppy, dirty. The food actually tasted more like it came out of a can or was frozen than cooked by a chef. This is not barbeque, as I know it.

I love this restaurant! At least for now...and not because it is flashy but because it perfectly combines the ultimate foodie experience with a very laid-back casual style--and it has the Jazz Standard in the basement!! You can stop in for lunch with no notice and sit in the bistro-like front room or convivial bar area and nibble on the amazing handmade BBQ potato chips in a big tin pail with bleu cheese dip or make reservations for dinner and sit in the back enjoying traditional BBQ and all your favorite comfort foods. Danny Meyer has done it again! Oh, and by the way, you can purchase Danny's special spices here too!
