Boi's banh mi is delicious. At $8.13 with tax, it was overpriced, but the sandwich itself is quite large. I don't get how a joint can get away with cash only in this neighborhood, though. It's a real pain.

I went to this restaurant for a take-out lunch and ordered the vegetarian rice bowl, which turned out to be nothing but a mound of boiled white rice, loads of iceberg lettuce and a few kernels of corn. I asked for some tofu to at least add something else in the bowl-- they only have skin shavings, which added no flavor or texture-- (and cost an extra dollar). The sauce was watery and also failed to add flavor. Go elsewhere.

Trekked over for a recent lunch. Result was tasty--great meat, nice ingredients, lovely to be able to tailor. But sauces were watery and tasteless, slaw costs extra, and it's three times more expensive than chinatown.

make the trek to chinatown or even nicky's on avenue a. you'll get a better deal - money and tastewise. way too much vietnamese ham. not enough pate. it's like asian subway for the business set.
