Great Staff and Food!
By kingleejen on 11/11/2010
I am very hard to please. I have traveled the world and have been exposed to some of the BEST Food and Service. I was impressed with the manager as I had a coupon and called to see if they would honor the coupon and the manager said yes. He gave me directions as I was driving and was very friendly when I met him in person. The food was fresh and the service was prompt and accomodating. Most of the staff are European which is really appealing. The spirit in this place was very welcoming and there was live music. Planning my birthday ladies night out here in December because I was that impressed! TRY it and see for yourself!
Boom - SOHO

I love this place. It's adorable for a date, but comfortable enough to grab dinner with friends. The food is amazing - from apps to dessert.
I LOVE BOOM.. Been going there for years!

I have been traveling to NY since I got out of college.. I think my first trip was in 1991. Boom has been a favorite of mine. Yes, I have been to Chic places to eat all over the world, but Boom is an establishment that makes me want to return. It's Real enough..to make you feel Home away from Home.

Boom is fantastic place to eat,to enjoy your time with your friends, your wife, and your lovers. My name is Giovanni and I used to be a boom's manager.I had a great time working there and not so that. The food its really really good!! I have tried so many food dishes while I was working there and I garantee you that were whole so delicious. There is a large and finest wine list.My favourite wine is called AMARONE.Ask the waiter for a bottle and you wont regreat my advice. I am looking forward to visit Boom again and eat the TORTINO dessert. It melts in your mouth.Wow! I want also say hi to all the great staff and in particular to Cesare, the owner. MAKE FOOD NOT WAR!:)

What's with all the negative energy people??? It sounds like people are more than willing to nag and complain about a bad experience and forget about the good ones... My friend recommended BOOM as a great place to have dinner after a nice walk around SOHO. Of course, I went and googled BOOM for both directions and ratings. It was a total turnoff when I heard all the negative comments about their service and price. The following week I happen to be in SOHO around 10PM after meeting a friend. Hungry and drenched from the rain, I decided to take the "risk" and go in to BOOM. And guess what?? It was fantastic. The environment was cozy and lively. The waiters were always there if I needed assistance. They had a great live band and found it sweet to see a couple dancing alongside them. So instead of wasting my energy complaining about my "horrifying" experience at some restaurant, I'm gonna take that wasted energy and boost about it!!! Take that to y'all who I call "bitter-in-life"!

I feel bad for those that had poor service because I had a wonderful time at Boom last night. There was adorable old-timey music playing (complete with banjo and oboe) and the decor was delightful. Our waitress was attentive and patient (we were slow to order). Although it is a bit pricey my salad was fantastic and the wine delicious. A great cozy date place.

Was taken for my birthday a few years back and have come many times since then. The rotating menu always has a great selection and more than once I've received dessert or wine on the house
Good Food, ambience and live music
By felakuti on 5/9/2007
It was great to find a lively place on a Wednesday Night offering live music and good food. The Band played some not so uptight jazz, and included a great percussionist, a mean sax player, a guitarist, and keyboard player. The music included some standards and some not so standard pieces, overhaul it was very lively but not too loud and different from your typical restaurant jazz band. During the break, a girl came up and sang some Brazilian songs. The waiters are prompt and attentive and the crowd was a lot of fun to watch. The pasta was cooked just right, I had a blast and I will be back.
Fantastic, nothing to complain about

The food was delicious, flavored to perfection and served very nicely. The waiters were friendly and had perfect timing. The walls had an aged thing going on, kind of faded and if you look a little closer you see that there were maps painted on the walls. I sat in the front of the restaurant, the whole front was opened up onto the street (it was summer). It wasn't noisy at all. I had the best coffee ice cream ever there, and great chocolate brownie. I'd go back again.
Make food, not music

Sometimes a little too dark, usually a little too loud, Boom brings together a very euro crowd. The food is good, the desserts are even better. Though I couldn't reccomend you one truly stand-out dish. The female bartenders are at least good looking, and besides, who looks at their face when their it's their chest that eyelevel. Right? Joke! I promise. They have late night live music and dancing is always encouraged, after a few more drinks of course. All in all, a fun experience, and actually, if you go earlier in the evening, it could be romantic and relatively quiet.
