First Review of my entire life

I've been to many places and experienced many meals that I won't soon forget. I've served in the military and seen first rate execution first hand. I know what I like and what I don't. I've even decided to use the GI Bill to go to culinary school because I care about the experience of sharing a meal so much. This dinner tonight marked the first year of my marriage. I can honestly say that when this restaurant is in prime form (which it was tonight) that there is no better experience in the world. The staff danced, the meals surprised and delivered. The extra mile was afforded by all, and my wife and I are as happy as we have ever been. I recommend this special experience with the highest marks possible.

Spent my engagement celebration with my now fiancee at this taste of heaven last night. EVERY detail was uterly sublime. From the maitre d to the clearing plates. The elegance of the room is breathtaking and the meal equally so. The wines were paired perfectly with the courses. I had duck that melted in my mouth and my fiancee had the lamb which was spectacular. The prices are thought were very reasonable for such an experience. I got turned away from another establishment because we needed a later time but Bouley was incredibly flexible. I can't imagine anywhere else in the world I would rather have spent the most important night of my life. Cheers to you all for your professionalism, expertise, class, and 5 star love that you showed us!

Amazing Lunch at Bouley $36

Everything about the meal was perfect, non pretentious and hit the spot, especially the chicken in the pot with aromatic herbs! SECRET! If the chef has more info on what you like to eat (leave with reservations) then the meal is that much more tailored to your like and dislikes.

Best meals I've had so far in NY

Nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Just finished a 7 course Christmas meal and I am 100% satisfied. On top of that I was offered a selection of daily fresh baked breads that included fig, saffron, olive, blackcurrant, french sourdough, garlic and pistachio & hazelnut. I tried all of them and loved them all. Though my favorite was undeniably the fig. We were offered the chef's tasting room beside the kitchen and it was a delightful experience. The staff was super helpful and friendly. As a table of six with two bottles of wine, we ended spending around $300 each it was worth every penny. If you're looking for something spectacular Bouley is the place to dine. I look forward to next occasion I can use as an excuse to eat here again.

I was in NYC on business and was taken to Bouley by my business colleague. I had not heard of the restaurant or the chef, so I had no preconceptions. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food, the food, the FOOD - it was out of this world. Truly one of the best meals I have enjoyed in my lifetime. I am looking forward to going back on my next trip to NYC.

Wonderful food, lovely service—Bouley is back! I'm not sure where the other reviewers are eating . . . it could not have been lovelier. This is our first time in the new space at 163 Duane (we'd been for lunch a couple of times in the old space). Delicious seasonal food, wonderful combinations, a good wine list . . . what more could you ask for. Go, and go for lunch, NOW.

My husband and I had a wonderfully enjoyable evening at Bouley tonight. We were celebrating my 60th birthday, and wanted the dining experience to be special. The quality and taste of the food, service, and ambience far exceeded our expectations. My husband had the six-course tasting menu, and I had the seafood appetizer, the LI duck, and the chocolate souffle. Superb! The fragrant aromas, different food textures, and various taste sensations were a delight. The service was exquisite. Robert was informative, helped us make our selections by describing the food and its preparation and presentation, and infused some humor into our interactions (which we very much appreciated). Thanks to all for a great time, including the birthday desert plate. Now my husband wants to celebrate his next birthday at Bouley!

I have been to Bouley three times so far with each time being wonderful. The stereotype of "pretentiousness" that stalks high caliber restaurants concerned me at first, but suffice to say I was completely wrong. The hostesses were inviting and the wait staff was warm and friendly. The waiting area is small, so it's best to grab a seat if you can. No two patrons are alike, the dress code being tested with personal style coming before rules (no jeans however). The decor is elegant and cozy with couches that line both dining rooms and satin pillows that fill their corners. The bread is delicious. I always end up having the lamb for my main dish, whether we do the tasting menu or A La Carte. Everything is always cooked perfectly and no bite has to be over chewed. The "mashed potatoes" have an unreal consistency and taste phenomenal. You constantly get special additives before, during, and after your meal and the presentation is elegant but not daunting. The chocolate souffle is perfect and the petit fours that are brought out afterwards are a great French touch. Bouley is a memorable restaurant that will keep me coming back!

My Favorite Restaurant in NYC

From the moment you step foot off of West Broadway into the elegant door, you are instantly comforted by the escape of the city into a traditional, light and sweet, apple aroma-filled passageway to the restaurant. Once seated, you're offered a wonderful bread selection (they have an entire cart filled with something like 15 different breads - I highly recommend trying the one with the raisins inside and dried apple on top). The wine selection is very large, and there's definitely something great to be found to go along with your meal. My favorite part of the restaurant, aside from the absolutely amazing courses, is that you are brought so many small additions to your meal such as a puree for an appetizer and dessert that seems to be different every time I go. You leave Bouley with a full stomach, but you never even realize you're getting to that point. I've never had but a great experience here, and I definitely recommend giving Bouley a shot! If you enjoy this restaurant, its sister restaurant by David Bouley, is Danube, which I've also visited several times, offers an equally amazing selection of Austrian-inspired cuisine.
