I recently moved right around the corner from Braeburn, and it's probably become my go to place. Excellent food, reasonable prices and friendly service. If you live anywhere in the West Village or lower Chelsea, worth a try. Also if you plan on having a night out anywhere in the earlier. Also a good fallback if the wait at the spotted pig is too long. Great brunch.

I had the displeasure of "eating" at Braeburn last night and the entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth - literally. As an accomplished, professional chef I expected more based on this review. Lets skip past the random offering of scallon-buttermilk scones and move forward to the perplexing offering of the Panko Poached Egg, whose runny, unseasoned, bland taste was amplified by the failed inclusion of pencil asparagus thus forcing me to send it back (which was a first for me). We were immediately offered the Quail Sausage in exchange, which was little more than a rolled quail, again devoid of any distinguishable taste. For our main course, the Veal Rack was more of the same uninspired and unrefined cuisine that was now clearly becoming customary of this restaurant. Aside from being undercooked and unseasoned, this was one of the poorest cuts of veal I have seen served in a restaurant. Chewy, fatty and sitting on fava beans and shallot puree, it was the the bitter sauce that truly made this entire dish unpalatable. In conclusion, spare yourself.

I went to Braeburn last night and we had a great time. The food was really great. For starters, I had the quail sausage, which was very good. For my main course I had the chicken with carrot puree and swiss chard. It was so tasty! The sauce was great and everything was cooked exactly how I would have liked it. For dessert, I had the banana pudding and needless to say, it was also amazing. The only experience that I wasn't the most pleased with was the waiting staff. They were very slow and did not come to check on us enough times. But overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

My husband and I have eaten at Braeburn many times, and it has become "our" restaurant. We go when we want to have a lovely dinner alone together, if we have family in town, if we are going out with friends, and also for business dinners. I especially love the House-Smoked Brook Trout , and the Hand Rolled Pasta with Braised Rabbit, Bitter Greens and Mint for appetizers. Favorite mains are the Duck Breast with Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Squash Sauce, and the Rack of Pork. I can't wait to try the Butter Poached Lobster! The Doughnut Holes are the best dessert ever. And the service is lovely and intelligent. We love this restaurant.

My boyfriend and I ate at Braeburn last night. For appetizers we had the peekytoe crab, and corned beef of short rib, and our main courses were the pork and duck. It was all very good for the most part - the pork was a little dry, but everything was enjoyable. We also had two of the ciders, and the chocolate bread pudding (which could have been more moist) for dessert. The staff is lovely, as is the space - we arrived on time for our 8pm reservation on a Sunday and were seated right away in a nice corner table. We'd like to go back and try some other offerings.

ate dinner at the bar on saturday with a friend. service was friendly and attentive, the space warm and cozy, and the food very tasty - crab appetizer (delicious), rib eye (yum), chocolate bread pudding (could've been more moist). I didn't notice a noise problem - think they put up curtains.

For a restaurant that has been open only for one week, food was surprisingly good. The quail sausage and the pork chops were both flavourful (though i am not sure about the cabbage and the dried up potatoe prune gratin). I actually liked the limited menu, makes it easy to choose. Unfortunately that's where the compliments end... The noise level in the rest was brutal, felt like a subway station rather than a restaurant. Just like most new restaurants, service needs substantial improvement. Bread and butter (which btw tastes a notch above land o'lakes) arrived after our appetizers. The manager/owner is extremely polite and seems to be fully aware of the restaurant's shortcomings. I think they just need some time to settle down. I won't be back in the near term but this restaurant is promising.
