That should just about say it. The food was excellent, the server seemed to be telepathic. He had this ability to be invisible until the moment something was needed, and he would appear with what was needed...not a question as to what was needed. The atmosphere, however, left aLOT to be desired. Cold hard surfaces...my gf said like being in an airplane...I personally like the jetsons cafeteria comparison. This is called BRASSERIE. I was expecting something more cuisine de terrior, not so much Haute Coutre tried too hard.

I dined late night on a weekend. Sitting in one of the Brasserie's booths made one oblivious to the fact that the restaurant had very few patrons. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The service was efficient. The food--escargots, mussels, frites, salad, grouper and dessert (beignets and banana duo)--was very good. I enjoyed the food and the quietude.

My gf and I picked this place for our NYE dinner with some friends. And I must say we could'nt have been happier with our decision! It was a 3-course prix fixe menu, but the food was out of this world. From the grilled octopus to the golden almond duck...all delicious! The caramalized cheesecake I had for dessert was absolutely amazing. I almost ate the piece of mint too, it was that good. The regular menu is a bit pricey, so we won't return too often. But, for those special occassions though, it's WELL worth the money. Even the white wine we had was fabulous. Compliments to the chef!

pretty unexceptional and mediocre at best. that was my own experience and while I'm sure many prior diners may have indeed had a wonderful evening, this is one ny restaurant that's not worth a second trip

Brasserie is new again. I loved it. What a meal. That halibut melted in my mouth and the foie gras was great too. I had the strawberry dessert. It was amazing. What a new experience. I hadn't been in over 4 years, but my friend said I had to go back and so I did. I cannot wait to have another meal at my new "old" favorite restaurant.

The interior design of Brasserie is a bit like a school cafeteria from the Jetsons cartoons. It is large, bright with all hard surfaces which means the noise level is always cranked up. What fills the room is the quality food prepared by a talented kitchen. The limited menu has a wide variety of choices. And all are fantatisc. The service is uneven and can disappoint.

Thanks to its ultra modern but classy redesigned interior, this brasserie is the perfect place for afterwork drinks or a business dinner to impress the clients while not breaking the bank. The Grillades menu is where the food shines but its overpriced wine list is weak and mundane. The service was very attentive however and very adept at handling large parties so it's perfect for the impromptu dinner party with friends!

a midtown standard -- always good bistro food with a sometimes asian touch, excellent design, and good vibe for a midtown restaurant whether business or pleasure.

I can see making this a regular stop on my dinner circuit. We chose Brasserie as our break out from restaurant week, and it was the right choice. From the grand entrance to the incredibly lucky booth seating that gave us a sweeping view as the evening unfolded, we got off to a great start. The tissue wrapped baguette OK, the european butter better, and the wine list short but with very good choices regardless of budget. The raw bar and the lobster salad were excellent considering the season, and the French onion soup tasty and thankfully not too salty. The seared king salmon was well presented and cooked to perfection. If you choose the excellent rib-eye steak with the nicely and spicily flavorful Chipotle Béarnaise, be prepared to lug half of it home. The chocolate beignets with caramel ice crean filled what little space there was to finish this excellent and fairly-priced dinner.

My lady friend loved the runway entrance that threw her picture on the multi-screen TVs. The chartreuse martini was a kick, the sea bass only adequqate, the room big and empty late on a weekday night. super trnedy, a bit chilly al around, unless I guess when it is packed at the bar.
