Went here for lunch one weekday - will be going back. Excellent arugula, authentic trenette al pesto (very good pesto, by the way), and a delicate white peach tart followed by a perfect espresso made for a super meal. Service was very friendly and professional. Attractive space, good prices, looks like a winner!

Would-be great restaurant a victim of its success. Great decor, terrific martinis, great movie screen, hip setting and crowd, extraordinary expresso, but overcrowding means bad communication between kitchen & wait staff, items on menu sold out and customer not told til after ordering and waiting, soup served lumpy and cold, house special pasta w/walnut sauce served cold, benches w/tables so crowded customers knock things over upon standing. Table wobbled, had to ask twice 'cause staff sent to wrong table to fix it. Attractive light fixtures badly placed, need to hold candle to menu to read it. Drinks worth the price, food and service not good enough for the chic atmosphere.

Arrived on time for a 7:30 reservation. Maybe 20% of the tables were occupied. Joey Lawrence look-alike maitre d' told us to wait at the bar- that he'd seat us when 3rd member of our party arrived. $12 Cocktails!? Made us wait at cramped bar, no seats, when there are so many available tables?! Average food, waitress service fine. Then, after paying the bill, maitre d' asks us to leave to free up the table for next guests (we were waiting for friend to return from bathroom). The nerve! What is with these trendy restaurants? Is it silly to expect courtesy and refinement from the staff of a high-priced eatery? Boycott Bread.

Absolutely the worst service I have had in NY and that is pretty bad. Gave it three shots cuz I liked one of the sandwiches but it is sooo not worth it. The best was yesturday when we went for lunch and not only did the server not smile but she made zero eye contact and I felt like I was bothering her. This was by the way the floor manager. Of course the first time we went the manger was our server and he as even worse. Food- not worth it Price- not worth it and Service- ridiculous. Head to Bar Pitti instead...actually I have had betther serves at burger king.
