Racist Staff, Poor Service

The staff at this place are racist. We were there as a group of 6 last weekend. The waiter, a dark-haired Italian looking guy in his 40's, did not even bring over water for 10 minutes after we were seated. Another waitress dropped a glass that shattered on the floor, spraying water and shards of broken glass on my wife and I. No apology was made. When the waiter finally did bring the water, one of the glasses were knocked over. He did not return with any paper towels to dry our table. The famous bread and oil arrived at our table at the same time as our sandwiches. Overall the experience was horrible and when we left only 12% tip, the waiter in a very loud voice, meant to be heard by all of us, stated "these cheap fuc*ing Indians always leave bad tips". We asked for the manager to discuss our experience but were told by the girl who seated us that he was not available. We will never go to this restaurant again and recommend all to stay away.

Tribeca in the past couple of years has seen somewhat of an explosion of new restaurants popping up here and there, but one eatery still holds my heart and that is Bread Tribeca. From the casual non pretentious waitstaff to the ambience giving off just enough hipness without being too overbearing to the delicious menu and impressive drinks, My husband and I had a wonderful experience. It had been awhile (more than a year) since I last gave this downhome place a try. My last experience was uneventful, however this time more then made up for it. We had one of the new additions to the menu,. the swordfish. We had intended on sharing this dish but I found it impossible to do so, my husband ended up having the chefs special pasta dish; bucatini with pork sausage. Can I say OH MY GOD! It was just divine. We ended the night with two glasses of Brachetto and fritelle. We will definately be back

Several friends and I celebrated our friend's birthday here. Let's just say her birthday wish was that we never took her to this restaurant. While we were seated, our waiter kept on touching and rubbing the shoulders of our friends which was highly inappropriate. Once the food arrived 2 hours later, it was small, cold, and expensive (which was how the tone of the service and the reputation of restaurant as a whole). The kitchen is out in the open to give it a "Benihana" feel but the cooks kept on burning the butter which wasnt a pleasant smell that permeated the whole restaurant. To sum it up: save your time, money, and sanity at another restaurant. Next time I will not laugh at the suggestion of “Red Lobster.”

Terrible Meal and Service

Ate with some friends at Bread Tribeca this last week. When we came in, an elderly gentleman was arguing about his bill with the manager - definitely a bad omen. I have to say, the food was terrible. First, it took almost 20min before someone took our order. Then it took over 45min between our appetizers being cleared and our main courses coming out. My Pork Shoulder was inedible. Completely dry, no flavor and served at room temperature. The Pastas my friends ordered were utterly flavorless - they could easily have come out of a jar. On top of everything, the flat screen next to us playing a DVD of Il Postino kept skipping which certainly didn't help the atmosphere. Think again before eating here, there are many better places in the neighborhood.

Everyone in the joint was european and very accomodating. Food was fair. We get the bill at the end of the meal. We weren't surprised. It came to $45 for the both of us. I paid with my credit card and my friend left a $10 cash tip (which is more than 20%) I HAPPEN to go online to check my bank account, only to find that they ADDED (where i put a number zero) 9 dollarz to the tab, making it $54 Buyerz beware... it was good, but not $18 of a tip good

Lunch was nice and space is very cool. tables are not crowded together and nice daylight shines thru the big windows. Nice lunch time treat. Reasonable priced as well

I go to Bread Tribeca every time I feel like having Italian food and every time I'm just happy to see that I made the right decision ...Great Place!!!

Even if I'm not a big fan of tribeca, I finally find a great place.Food is amazing, nice and not too fancy...just what you look for a restaurant.

A perfect tribeca vibe for a perfect tribeca restaurant.Finally a real Italian food delicate,light and so testfull.I spend in bread tribeca 2 hours and I don't even realize.
