Writing home about nothing

While Adam Richman may've gotten served the Mother Theresa Special, sending him into an orgasmic state, I can tell you first hand there's nothing special going on here. The wife and I had the dipped roast beef with fries. Both the appearance and taste came off as simply 'Plain Jane'. While the beef was okay, it lacked that great "Wow" first bite reaction one might expect after watching Adam's response. It was more like, "Hmmmm, and we came here because why?" It could've been because the bun had been dipped in a very watery, neutral, Au Jus, making it taste like you were eating roast beef wrapped in wet cardboard. It just didn't hit the neurons like you'd expect. The service was okay. Young guys in white jackets, working for an extra buck, did a good job of coming back and checking if all was well. One thing folks should know is they only take cash; no cards, so be prepared, or you'll get the old pirate running the register growling. Truthfully, I've had a hundred better roast beef sandwiches across the nation, including the ones I make myself. The food here can easily be out done by any average truck stop in the U.S. or restaurant within 10 miles of their house. No reason to make a special trip, but okay if you happen to be within three blocks and nothing else is open.

Weak & Lousy

This place is horrible. Tasteless, fatty, cheap-quality roast beef. Watery soup. Crappy french fries. Want excellent roast beef sandwiches? Drive over to nearby Roll-N-Roast on Emmons Aveue. Superb! Want a real NY hot dog...walk 3 blocks west of Brennan & Carr on Ave U to Jay & Lloyd's Kosher Delicatessen.

Great place to eat

This definitely is one of my favorite places to eat. What better than a nice gooey roast beef and cheese sandwich dipped in beeth broth and a nice cold beer in frosty mug to wash it down. There is not one thing on the menu that I don't like.
