Chris Russells vision of grass-fed beef burgers is housed in a stark modular shop doors down from Bloomindales Flip Burger. Designed by famed architect Laszlo Kiss it's highlighted with Skittle-like colors and shapes that are spotted like cushions along wall-side banquettes and white chairs, drop down red cotton spool shaped lamps, imitation grass foliage lino covers the floor and a cedar planked finish plasters the feature walls and side benches. Around the foyer are splashed colorful posters depicting BRGRs -Why we serve grass beef- creedo. The counter staff took my order of a Blue Sky Burger, a Rainforest Burger [Gruyere, Avocado and Herb Mayo] and Russet Fries. Orders are sorted and delivered to your table which you mark with a number given by the counter staff, within minutes my burgers arrived bundle in brown paper and swarmed with French fries. The Blue Sky burger is dripping in grease and purging with globules of creamy Roquefort, the taste was a rich creamy oniony flavor predictable and expected with these ingredients, the 100% grass-fed beef was overpowered by the Roquefort and other condiments. In contrast the Rainforest Burger, with dollops of creamy herb mayo, bright green avocado and nutty yellow Gruyere oozing over the patty was a much better choice. French fries were coarsely cut but lack zing and crispiness. My experience was satisfactory, if I had to choose between them and Flip Burger-The Bloomingdales burger spot would get the edge.

A new addition to the Upper East Side burger scene, BRGR just opened this past Saturday steps away from Bloomingdales, where FLIP burger has been keeping burger fanatics satisfied since it's opening. BRGR hopes to challenge their burger talents by featuring their popular colorfully labeled Grass fed burgers like the "Blue Sky Burger" "The Beautiful Day Burger" and "The Rainforest Burger". Other faved fried accoutrements include sweet fries, regular fries and onion hay. Black and White Milkshakes and Blueberry Pomegranate shakes also appear. Full review from DMANBURGER to come.

Went to brgr for the first time yesterday. Give it a WOW. The grass fed burger was fresh and perfectly cooked. The shake made my head spin- yes, that good. Try this place. The bonus is grass feed beef is better for you and the environment. Nice to eat something so good and feel good about your self! Thanks brgr folks- need one in Westchester!

Yes its a bit expensive, but the turkey burgers are divine! As a burger lover, I've also eaten at other comperable burger joints: Shake Shack, Trailer Park, Heartland Brew, BLT... and these were far better! If you listen to the other reviews, you would think the burger was itty bitty, but in this day of heart disease & diabetes, I do not need to gorge myself on 1/3lb of beef or turkey to feel satisfied. Its flavor i'm after! Additionally, I regularly trek all the way down from the UWS if only for their blueberry & Pomegranete milk shakes! If you are in the neighborhood, don't listen to the bad reviews until you go in and try the place for yourself! And make sure you get that milkshake!

OK, I love a good burger. I am even willing to pay a little extra for something special. Especially in NYC, you have to expect it from time to time. I went to BRGR at lunch time with a friend. The space is pretty decent looking, nothing great, but not bad either. I ordered a burger with special sauce (which I could not tell if there was any on there or not) fries (which were good, but not great - they reminded me of Ranch 1 fries) and a blueberry pommegranite milkshake (which was AWESOME, best milkshake I've ever had). Despite the meal being very good - I could not get past the fact that I paid $16.50 for what is essentially a value meal. If you have won the lottery recently, you should come here for a great hamburger and an amazing milkshake.

High ceilings and an awfully expensive small meal is not enough to be classified as a good or even average dining experience.

this space is nice- the food tastes good. the prices are WAY TOO HIGH and the music is AWFUL. we kept asking eachother if we were in Tokyo with these prices. $10 for a (SMALL) burger wrapped in paper just like at any low-brow fast food joint. no fries with that, by the way- you have to pay $2.50 for a 4 oz paper tray of (again, good- but small portioned, over-priced) russet fries. the sweet potato fries were too greasy- almost soggy. you can build your own burger- add two more patties if you wish - for FIVE dollars! do you know what you're really paying for? the open-air ceiling, that's prime real estate up there. give this a miss.
