Our company takes clients here frequently, so I thought I'd give it a try. Everything I ordered was overcooked, or soggy - just not that good. It's unfortunate because it's such a great location. I feel like NYMag's review was dead-on. It's just nothing special.

I was there recently with guests and pleasant dining experience was had by all. The food was good, service excellent and the view magnificent. So yes I will return and I do highly recommend it.

My friend and I decided that the BPG looked so beautiful that we would try it for dinner one night. The service was fair but the food was less than satisfactory. It seemed as though they just heated up my quesidillas in 5 minutes in a microwave or similar. I would expect a place with such a prime location to have at least decent food.

I went for a business lunch there at the end of November, and I have to say it was a great disappointment. The food was so-so and the service was very awful. Our waiter hardly even checked on our table I had to ask others to look for him. He was also in a bad mood and therefore wasn't very friendly. I know it was lunchtime, but I did end up spending $120!. Only the atmosphere and the great location worth the price.

While our waitress was pleasant and we had a marvelous view, the host staff was so rude that it put me in quite a mood for most of my meal. Unprofessional, uninteresting- should have packed a lunch for bryant park.

I went to BPG a week ago and actually really enjoyed my food, contrary to what the critics say about it. I ordered a mixed seafood entree (lobster, scallops, and shrimp) and it was delicious! The person I was with ordered "pork chopppps and applesauce" and it was equally delicious. For dessert, we shared the small banana split dessert and I have to say, I WISH we had ordered two instead. The decor seemed very stuffy (but trendy), so that is why I would more recommend it for business lunches. HOWEVER, I only ate inside, I'm sure it would be a quite different experience eating alfresco. I found the waiter to be very pleasant and he did a fair job, but the hostesses were a little on the unfriendly side.

I had high hopes for BPG given the prime location, beautiful space and enticing menu. All that went away when I ordered. Make sure that what's on the menu is what you want...substitutions are decidedly non grata. The preparation isn't so hot, either. I ordered the country salad (apples, walnuts and greens...simple, right?) and the greens they selected for the salad were all stem, no leaf. I was really disappointed and am unlikely to return.

Okay,so I come here for the ambience.The food is sorta institution fare. The service ranges from fair to good,but the view and the setting is wonderful.Try to obtain an upstairs table on a summer day. Good Cobb and other salads.Recommended for lunch, and for an active single's scene after work
