Been back several times and each time the service is impeccable and the food outstanding. We like it so much we are having our wedding here. I highly recommend this place.

The Bryant Park Grill is awful. They tempt in a captive audience with a nice looking location and tasty sounding menu. But the food is mediocre and over-priced, there is no coat or bag check, the wait staff is small and hassled and the maitre d is rude and dismissive. The tables are too small and too packed in leading to bumps and knocks from the hassled waiters and other patrons. Try the roof and you are met with a long line (no reservations) and a particularly rude and matronly maitre d. All of this frightful bustle is fine in Paris (and expected) but folk are not paying $150 a head for this sort of standard there (more like Euro 60). Go someplace else. We went for the terrific Aretskys Patroon only four blocks east which is a slice of heaven with a roof terrace that you can actually reserve, has keen and knowledgeable staff, a coat and bag check and is the real Parisian deal right here in NYC.

Typical drama: the place is beautiful, the food is a total failure. We ordered the Special of the Day, Hamachi and tuna ceviche. Probably one of the worst I've tried, 99% of it being a miss match of everything (including watermelon and insulting amounts of vinegar and or lime) and the rest fish (the main ingredient of a ceviche). A squid salad with bacon bits that felt like one year old, a pasta that was utterly mediocre and the worst of all the steak and frites ( a Parisian wannabe like you can't imagine). The steak was so bad that it had an aftertaste between the scent of Mobile Oil and instant charcoal, which was evidently not enough, a corn starchy sauce on top to make it even "better". A perfect place to have a drink, enjoy the park and get hungry to go to any other place (a hot dog stand is much better than this restaurant).

Had Sunday brunch at Bryant Park Grill. Surprised to see some less-than-stellar reviews since our waiter was very friendly and attentive, the food was great and the atmosphere very festive with the Christmas specialty huts and ice rink outside. Great experience! I'd recommend to others just as friends took good care of us by recommending it.

Rude, rude, rude. No matter what the view, no guests should ever have to put up with the rude staff. We went early in the day and were the ONLY table at the restaurant. There was five of our party of seven at the restaurant. A waitress (not ours - just some random rude waitress) approaches us and asks where the remainder of our party was and we can't sit down. This was after we had drinks and had already ordered food. Obviously the resaturant does not want repeat business. No one in my party (and yes the last two were there within 10 minutes) will ever go there again. I would never recommend it and would actively discourage people not to go. There is no excuse for mediocre food and horrible rude service.

Took my friends from OOT there recently and they were absolutely thrilled with the experience. The waiters were attentive. Food...hmmm...I would have to say good. Decor and atmosphere, terrific. For night out in the city definitely. We were very pleased..... Hawkeye................

My daughter and I went to the Bryant Park Grill during Fashion Week. I guess we weren't "beautiful" enough for them. The waiter paid little attention to us. He tossed things on our table, never asked if we wanted something to drink or if everything was okay. When I waved at him and asked him for a drink, he gave me an attitude. We ordered dinner, and before we were finished eating, my daughter had to run out of the restaurant to vomit. She was sick all night and through the next day. Little attention was paid to the freshness and food preparation.

Our company takes clients here frequently, so I thought I'd give it a try. Everything I ordered was overcooked, or soggy - just not that good. It's unfortunate because it's such a great location. I feel like NYMag's review was dead-on. It's just nothing special.

I was there recently with guests and pleasant dining experience was had by all. The food was good, service excellent and the view magnificent. So yes I will return and I do highly recommend it.

My friend and I decided that the BPG looked so beautiful that we would try it for dinner one night. The service was fair but the food was less than satisfactory. It seemed as though they just heated up my quesidillas in 5 minutes in a microwave or similar. I would expect a place with such a prime location to have at least decent food.
