I really wanted to like this place. It looked super kid friendly and the menu looked appealing. My husband and I ate there last Sunday at 10:30 am. We were promptly seated and the kids were given crayons and paper to write on. Not those cheap crayons that snap in half, but the giant crayola crayons, perfect for them. We asked the waiter a few questions about the menu, but he immediately told us that he was a dinner waiter and couldn't answer any questions. He also forgot to give us the brunch menu which we didn't discover till after we ordered. I would have gotten something off the brunch menu. The service was very slow and the food was mediocre at best. The pancakes were very heavy. We tried to find our waiter for about 15 minutes to order a pantry basket, basket of muffins and such, and he was nowhere to be found. We were asked to leave promptly after we paid so that our waiter could service another tip. He proceeded to tell us that He wanted to turnover his tables quickly because he was not generating enough tips during brunch. When I looked over there were several empty tables in the restaurant and NO ONE waiting. I wish we had asked for change, we would have taken a majority of our tip back. Not 100% because he did service us, but a significant portion. We left over 20% and we felt cheated.

Tea was so concentrated & bitter even after the waitress watered it down with "hot water" which was lukewarm.Food took about 30 minutes and other tables that were seated after us were served first. Our waitress was just horrible especially after I asked for my tea 2 be fixed. Didnt offer my daughter crayons to play with but gave the other kids, I had 2 ask for them. My food was OK nothing special the eggs had no salt and the beans were over salted. Service was the worst part really. They dont care. Then they have the nerve to charge $5.00 for a root beer (to save moneythey make their own) and $4.00 for a small cup of tea that was just horrid Ive never had such horrible tea.The leaves in the cup could have brewed a 10 cup teapot. To finish it off the floors were sticky and my sandles stuck to the floor as we walked in and some of the tables were dirty and sticky too and we were the first ones there so that means no one cleaned the floors or the tables the night before. FINALLY insult to injury they only accept cash. It's horrible a total rip off. No tip for the waitress that was the first for me but after the $65.00 charge and her service forget about it!Next time we will just bring egg sandwiches and some Dunkin Doughnut coffee & enjoy the view at the park.... no need to leave your hard earned money in this establishment. This place wont be there much longer I was not the only one complaining and the menu has changed for the worse u can tell its on its way out. STAY AWAY!!!

Had a ridiculously bad brunch here. Service was horrifyingly bad - drinks took 45 minutes (including coffee!) and the whole meal was over two and half hours. No explanation, no apology. Food was mediocre at best, and most of it was terrible. Their famed pies were bland and tasteless (I heard rumors they now outsource their baking), and their overpriced pancakes were terrible. I can't emphasize enough how much I'd encourage you to go elsewhere. Maybe it once was good, but now there really isn't a single redeeming quality.

Took some Italian friends who were ready for typical American food. I had eaten there in the fall, & food was OK, w/quite fried chicken, good sides. However - this time (spring 2011) - NO draft beer. No ribs. Out of most sides. $14 for a small-ish glass of Delirium beer. Our waiter, who was working hard to handle the few widely scattered tables, finally (after a 45 minute wait) brought out heavily laden plates of indistinguishable beef & pork w/some heavily oversalted sides. It appeared no one was working in the kitchen. My Italian friend said softly "They must be going bankrupt." I asked to speak to a manager when we were finally able to get out of there; he was nowhere to be found. Yes, the view was great - otherwise, an embarassing disaster.

An uneventful and not necessarily appetizing experience. The views are lovely but are equally as visible from the park nearby or some of the other waterfront eateries.

Thinks this is a fabulous place for me to take my four granddaughters...it is so kid friendly..with a special play area and lots of families...the food, service, etc...comes in last...because it is easy and fun with the kids....

Where do I start? From the scowling maitre d? The long wait just to get noticed? How about begging for a menu, and then afterwards, realizing they also had a drink menu!@ We moved from manhattan to brooklyn; and loved Bubby's downtown. I guess I didn't notice the prices when I was enjoying myself. Here, in this austere, cold, slate floored echo chamber, I felt ripped off and miserable. Guess those billion dollar condos won't blink an eye at these high prices and poor service.

After reading several decent reviews, I decided to take a five minute walk to Bubby's for saturday afternoon brunch. My first impression was a good one. The space is large but maintaned a cozy, warm feeling. I scanned the menu and decided on bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Not five minutes passed when the waiter came out with the dish. This is where it goes down hill!! I ordered eggs over easy and they were over cooked. The bacon was so so and the hashbrowns were just ok. I decided to order one of Bubby's specialties for dessert. I decided on hot apple pie with caramel. The waiter asked me if I wanted the pie heated, and I said yes. When he brought it over, it was cold and bland. At this point I just wanted to get the check and hit the road. For the price, the food was mediocre at best. Bubby's turned out to be a bomb!
