Picked up a bunch of muffins for our brunch and was very disappointed by how dried out and flavorless they were. How embarassing to serve our guests. Since we live in the neighborhood, guests always want to try Bubbys, but we are always disappointed.

When I first moved to Tribeca I liked the food. It was pricey but the food was good. But now the food is bad, and not kinda bad I mean bad like I found hair in my food. Then another time the food was oily and tasted terrible like they forgot what a taco was. Its like buying food from a garage where you dont know what they are doing in the back but the front looks ok but the kitchen is a mess. The manager never knows how to manage a complaint and the staff thinks the food is great. Delivery is horrible as well. Who ever runs this place is not in it for the people and is now trying to throw anything at the public because they got use to making money and dont want to deal with making it a good and well liked cuisine- Good effort and affordability is truly lacking in this establishment and honestly it has never been worth the wait. Tribeca has a lot to learn from the Upper WS restaurants where quality, diversity of cuisine and affordability is more available than not

Went early on Saturday morning. Music unpleasant and loud. Toast was average white tasteless. Had to track down waitress to get butter and then got tiny tab barely enough for one piece. Bacon was soft and fatty.

Someone's Bubby Is Rolling Over in Her Grave

I had a veggie burger (dry and burned on the edges) and ended up getting ill before I left the restaurant. I almost passed out from what apparently was a physical reaction to the biscuits, which, as it turns out, are cooked with LARD. No bubby I know would ever use that ingredient. Very loud although not crowded. Would never return or recommend.

Insultingly high prices

It's clear they have the clientele to support the model, but the prices here are hilarious, or egregious, depending on one's outlook. Coupled with the blah service and solidly average food, we can't (as mere 2-year residents of the neighborhood) figure out why there are lines on the weekends. (Millionaire parents with strollers, yeah I get it, but the whole thing just seems kinda sad to me). Paired with a roundtrip taxi ride, we still come out ahead, (and miles happier) at Clinton St. Bakery. This part of town sorely needs another American-style breakfast joint.

How can a place name Bubby's (Jewish for grandmother) have it's menu literally packed with bacon and pork?? Poor Bubby is spinning in her grave. Even the freeking biscuits have bacon fat in them, for christ's sake! It looks as if management decided, "wow, lets make the menu southern comfort food" (perhaps they mistook BUBBY for BUBBA?) and then got a guy (maybe a car mechanic?) from Jersey to cook it. My friend this stuff is simply awful! My husband said the food was so greasy he could not eat it. I ordered fried chicken, green beans and mac/cheese (only veggies that did not contain bacon or pork fat.). If you guys wanna go southern, then at least learn to make the dishes. This was AWFUL! Modern Southern cuisine has nixed the pork grease for flavour. The chicken was a favourless, greasy mess. No herbs, no spice... just greasy crunch... and EXTREMELY salty. They brag about brining (really called Koshering) the chicken; guess they don't do a second soaking in plain water, as you should (before preparing) to remove excess salt. The atmosphere is so loud we could not have a conversation without shouting across the table. The beer was warm, so was the water they brought on a 95 degree day. When I asked for ice, they offered to get me a iced lemonade at 5 bucks (!!) a glass. I know they have a captive audience down there in Tribeca. But I gotta tell you this place sucks so badly, I'd walk needed blocks in the 95 degree heat (or freezing cold) to find something else.

Bubby's used to be special...no more. Had the blandest mac-n-cheese ever!

Sadly, this place has become very over-priced for what you get. There is not even free coffee of you get a $20 egg "brunch" dish. In addition it is amazingly loud even when the place is only 1/3 filled. You have to yell at your friends across the din of the bad music and echoing acoustics. Also, the service was rushed and spotty and we had to get our own water. Would no longer recommend.

Enough already with people and their kids flocking here

When I first moved downtown to Tribeca a few years ago, I thought - great, here's my breakfast spot. Not so much anymore. Bubby's is no longer reasonable or well-priced for what it is - a cozy, homey diner with decent comfort food. And the people and their kids (I have one myself) all seem to flock here like there's a dearth of cafes or restaurants with decent comfort food in Tribeca. Sorry, it is not worth waiting.

Very disappointing, can't understand why place is always packed...had lunch, soup + caesar, worst ever, and dinged for nearly $50 (for 2) for the pleasure. Place is trading off its name and on tourists, avoid at all costs If living downtown Odeon is better bet.
