We live downtown, and took a chance on Burger Shoppe... I was really disappointed. The room needs work, and the food is way overpriced for what you are getting. Everything except the plate itself is take-out style (totally wasteful, plastic fork/knife, plastic cup, tiny take out napkins, mayo in a packet), the shake was watery and whack, and the fries were mealy and overcooked. The burgers were mediocre, nothing special and drowned in "Shoppe Sauce"... I don't mind their whole concept, the small burgers and malt shop vibe, etc. but the execution is really lacking. I will not be back. Maybe when it's lunch time people's expectations are lower?

terrible food, overpriced for what it is, dirty, burgers are tiny, overcooked, dry and overall disgusting. I came here first when they just opened, and was disappointed right away. I have decided to give it another chance some time ago to see if maybe they needed another chance: sometimes when the place is new they need to adjust and workout some details... Nope, not this time, not here. NEVER again.

I go here to treat myself almost every Friday, I love it. It's always bustling, but the line moves quickly, and it's like stepping back into an old time soda shop. The burgers are not huge, but I like not feeling nausious-ly overfull for lunch so it's perfect for me. There are also great specials for getting two burgers, which might explain why it's usually 99% men in line.

i stumbled onto this place with a co-worker and we were in the mood for a burger. we sat upstairs. first i will say, the burgers are on the small side for the price. i ordered the regular shoppe burger with swiss and fries and was in no way disappointed. 5 minutes after ordering and just when i was thinking that the waiter didnt ask me how i wanted my burger, it arrived, on a regular plate no less (in reference to the previous reviewer). It was SO juicy and flavorul and perfectly done medium. it was pipinig hot and delicious. i was a little less estatic about the fries but they were still good. it was a perfect place for lunch and a quick lunch. we got there right before the lunch rush.. so i would say go early.

Very disapointing. All food was served in take out containers eventhough we were eating in. so wasteful. Burgers were cold and the fries were oily and made from cheap potato sustitute. Trash cans were overflowing and no napkings were stocked on the tables. Yuk!
