This place is a complete disgrace on every level. McDonald's quality fries, badly over-cooked sub-par burger and stylized tourist-trap attempt to be funky and original. Stand in line with all the tourists for this garbage? Never again! Give it a pass.

Hamburgers eaten out had better be as good as hamburgers I make myself. I think mine edge these out, but let me tell you, if you know how to cook a particular dish or recipe yourself, giving it the best ingredients and attention, then you have to applaud a place that gets close. The beef is the right quality cooked right. Roll, sauce, fries are good, not excellent. I use and toast a better roll, make my own ketchup, peel and fry Idaho potatoes in virgin oil, maybe I should open my own Joint. Eating out always saves you having to shop, cook, serve and wash up. What you don't want is for that luxury to be destroyed by food that's an insult to your own standards. I don't care about atmosphere and service here, where the meal is basically a quick, daytime fix. I like it that sometimes I'm in that area with quite few things to do and have this place to turn to.

As a semi-professional cook from Europe I think this was a enormous disappointment. I was told to go to this place to find the best hamburger in New York. I expected something with outstanding flavor. I don't get the cheap bread, bread is I think as much as important as the quality of the meat itself. I thought there would be a homemade hamburger sauce which can give a hamburger this unique unexpected touch. Cheap cheddar cheese, a slice of poor quality tomato. Overall it was really disappointing. Even the seasoning was way to poor. A bit more salt and pepper would be a huge improvement. People are flattered by the location in such a nice hotel, and therefore like this place. But the hospitality of the burger joint has nothing to do with the hospitality of the hotel itself. My hunt for the best burger isn't over yet!

Definitely A Fav !!! One of the Best Lil Burger joints in the city. I went there once on a lunch run for co-workers and Loved it!!! you know its a good place when they only take cash! LOL .True sign of a great spot! Truly Good Burgers!!!

As my name was called out by the bohemian style burger-keep was like music to my ears as I knew the wait for my hunger was over; I grabbed my tightly wrapped burger and tore into it like a kid on Christmas Day. The flavor was a strong charcoal goodness combine with the creaminess from the hunks of melted cheese that was slathered on top, the crisp lettuce and dill pickles finished my pallet with a fresh after taste. Still hungry, this was not unusual for me I ordered another minus the cheese opting for the traditional hamburger. This bad boy didn’t disappoint either going down even quicker than the first, should I dare go for a third? To avoid being gluttonous, I think not! www.dmanburger.com
Better burgers in 100 coffee shops in NYC

The way everyone raves about this place I was expecting something special. All I got was a big disappointment. The burger isn't as good as my local coffee shop; the fries are nowhere as good as McDonald's. The setting is drab and depressing. If I were a European tourist staying at the hotel it might be a fun alternative to room service, but as a New Yorker I'll never set foot in there again.

I went to the Burger Joint expecting to find the "best burgers in NY", as stated by countless reviews and tourist guide books. What I was served was a ball of grocery-store-grade ground beef with a slice of tomato, lettuce and pickles, between two pieces of cheap hamburger bread. When I go for "the best burger in town", I expect to taste something beyond the regular hamburger, with unique spices, sauce and high-quality meat. I also expect good fresh bread. If I want to eat a patty of flavorless ground meat, I'll do it in my own kitchen. The setting is extremely cool, and I think is worth the detour. But do yourself a favor and skip the food. Your money will be better invested at your nearest McDonald's.

I was expecting a fantabulous melt in your mouth burger, but found it be pretty average. The meat and size of the burger was great but the bread and french fries were dull. Hidden in the corner with curtains, I expected to walk into THE burger joint. Sadly, I was disappointed. It wasn't terrible but not fantastic. An average joe.

I don't get it. Went yesterday for the first time. Burger ordered medium rare showed up overcooked, and on lackluster bun. Fries were nothing special, nor was shake. What's all the fuss?

This place really tries its hardest to be just a hole in the wall. The atmosphere is great, nice tunes, a good vibe, not too loud. The burgers are good - standard quality a step up from fast food type burgers. They are not particularly huge, which I think is a good thing. However, if you get the works the onion was sliced pretty thick and overpowered a lot of the other flavors. Basically, 5 guys make a better burger. The cooking is the definition of inconsistent (my med. rare was med well, my gfs med rare was rare). The fries are ok - if anyone has ever been to a Steak & Shake - these are comparable. The beer is tasty. There are better burgers to be had for the $31 that a plate of fries, two cheeseburgers, and two beers gets you.
