We used to eat here at least a couple of times a month. We went there about two weeks back and the experience was horrible. It was empty, and the service was terrible. We were with a large party and our food came out at all different times. Servers were new and not helpful. The food came out cold and many of the new items on the menu were just not enjoyable. Overall for the experience of sitting in a tiny restaurant with virtually no atmosphere, it is not worth the unbelievable price. Not to mention they don't take credit cards except AMEX, which can lead to its own problems. I don't know if it is new management, but it is NOT WORTH THE MONEY! We won't be back!

This was my first visit, and will absolutely be last. I met my friends here after reading this positive NYMag review. From the start when the Maitre'D tried to shove three of us in the corner of a two top, to the slow service (over an hour between salad and entree), and ending with a fight with the manager, it was a HORRIBLE experience. I am not one to ever call over a manager or complain about food/service. But we waited so long between courses that I just had to say something. The manager was so rude, mentioning that "we Americans" have too high of standards for service. Quote from manager, "this is an Italian restaurant, not an American restaurant... if you don't like the service don't come back." I won't. Readers beware: there are enough amazing Italian restaurants in this city to find a place that can provide both good food, and service.

After arriving for a birthday dinner with a party of ten promptly for our 8:00 reservation (the restaurant was nearly empty at this point) we put in our entree order at 8:15. We finally received our food at 10:30 and when it came the portions can only be described as child-sized. The pasta was fine, nothing spectacular and certainly nothing that should have taken two and a half hours to prepare.

Took my parents here for my mother's bday, for something casual. the space is adorable, nice and cozy. the wine list is a little short, but tasty and the food is good. both my parents got the veal pasta w. truffles and loved it, i had the artichoke ravioli which was tasty but really salty for my taste. the salads are really big and delicious, the pasta dishes are a little smaller (i had 5 ravioli?!) so it's relatively well priced for the area, but probably not the greatest. definitely worth checking out though.

Less known but with more interested taste combinations than Supper, this is one of my favorite Italian spots in the EV. I loved their seared tuna appetizer and signature pasta dish. Terrific ravioli too. The only thing I was disappointed with was a chicken dish once--the cook seemed to have taken less chances than he does with the pastas and it was an average but solid dish. Going off of what I and friends have had there, I'd stick with the pastas for the most part. Seems to be the consensus. (Although I heard the fish is good too...) But I've been there four or five times and plan to keep going back. The food is terrific, particularly for the price, and you can't underestimate a knowledgeable (wine too, yes) and attentive waitstaff.

Went here last night upon recommendation from a good friend and all i have to say is-WOW, WOW, WOW, food is phenomenal! Seating is tight, but it is so worth it! You must get the "house" special pasta made in the Pecorino Romano wheel, it is so tasty and addicting. Also, had Chianti wine that was very good. Overall experience was good so will definitely return.

Cacio offers more creative Italian entrees. It's nice to see something different on the menu that you may not be able to get somewhere else. That was the main reason I decided to give this place a try. Since Italian food is so prevalent in NYC, it is important to me that the Italian restaurants I go to don't just serve the same-old. I came here on a Friday night and the scene was pretty noisy. It seems like a very busy restaurant but they were able to seat the 3 of us within 10 minutes which wasn't bad since we didn't make a reservation. I didn't see the back garden as some has mentioned on here, but there are seating areas in the front, so on a nice night, you can take advantage of the outdoor seating. I would go back for an informal dinner with friends if we have no other restaurants in mind, but it's not a good place for dates because it is much too noisy.

Maybe we went on a bad night, maybe the food wasnt fresh, maybe the lobster in the ravioli didnt actually come from a vat of leftover chum from the weekend fishing trip...but it sure tasted like it. Have you ever swallowed a slimy rubber band while swimming in the ocean down the shore? If not, try the lobster ravioli. The sliced beef was something from a really bad chinese restaurant. Ambiance was great, service was good, food was just the worst i have had in the area in a long time.

We are longtime downtowner foodie-types, and this is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants! We love the garden, the warm service, and the fresh and interesting food. We had a wonderful major birthday party with friends and family in the garden recently--we all felt we were in Europe, and the service couldn't have been more solicitous. We also spent a great evening with staff and neighborhood Italians the night Italy won the World Cup!
