If you like cuban food, you probably shouldn't eat here.

I'm from southern Florida, so while admittedly not an expert, I have had my fair share of excellent Cuban meals (usually made by someone's mother/grandmother or at a hole in the wall). This meal was not one of them. Let us begin with a compliment. The corn was pretty good. A little heavy on the cheese and a little cumbersome. But this is where the goodness ended. We asked for some bread to start. This is the first time I've ever asked for bread in a Cuban restaurant. Because the bread is the thing. It's the point. Cuban bread is the most beautiful bread in existence. I mean it's made with LARD. Cuban bread is not vegetarian friendly. This is why it's so amazing. It presses into these perfect rectangles to beauty without much effort at all. "No." "You guys don't have bread." *Look of confusion* "No." What? I was in shock. This was enough to do me in, and then the sandwich arrived. A Cuban is made with all delicious types of pork, pickles, mustard, and Swiss cheese. There wasn't even mustard on this lame excuse for sandwich. I'll even take the bastardized version that includes lettuce. But no mustard? Who do they think they are? And the pickles tasted like deranged cucumbers trapped in sub-par brine. All in all? The worst Cuban sandwich of my life. In short, this place is pretentious, the service sucks, they add gratuity to the bill, and the food isn't anywhere close to worth the trouble. Save yourself the time.

I've been a big fan of Cafe Habana for years, but last night's meal was awful. Although the restaurant wasn't too busy, service was pathetic and slow. One appetizer never arrived, they were out of a few entrees (including their famous pork chops -- we were told they were "downstairs" but no one could get them), one of the entreesordered was sent back since it was the wrong order (to which the waitress muttered "they keep changing their orders"), no water was provided for the table and no one came to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told "no one is in charge". Our waitress spent most of the time eating a salad a table away from us -- I hope she enjoyed her dinner better than we did. What's happened to this place?
I used to like this place

I actually like this place and go there often. Tonight, my order was taken incorrectly. Even after I gave it to them again I received a different dish. Then when my order arrived it looked like it had been scrapped onto my plate from another plate made earlier. When I ate the food it was over cooked. Then they actually had the nerve to include gratuity on my bill. I'm never going back.

mediocre food - interesting style of putting cheese & chilli powder on corn. surely flavourful with such seasoning. but the quality of corn itself was poor and the cooking was way over-done. a quarter of it was burnt. awful service - waitresses with an attitude. restaurant with a stupid policy. was told 10min of waiting ended up 40min. finally a table was available then was told that couldn't be served til all guests are present even 2 out of 3 were there for 40min while they promised to hold the table - that's the stupid thing - deliberately just wanting people to stand and wait under the heat outdoor! poor environment - decor was not bad but all the bags of rubbish standing right by the restaurant really stunk. really don't understand why's the crowd even with such bad service. i wanted to find out if its the food which was why i didn't walk away. obviously it wasn't the case!!

Is being inexpensive for a restaurant is a good reason to have rude and high attitude staff? I don't think it is. I used to like this place more couple of years ago. But now this staff makes you really upset as they can't avoid their attitude and the meaningless looks you get very often. They have to change!

You get what you pay for here. The wait staff is unusually arrogant. Yes, the corn with cheese is pretty great but otherwise the food is mediocre. My biggest complaint, thou, is the "DIRTY" factor. The bathroom is one big germ and the woman next to me found a "special" treat in her drink. Rather than giver her a new beverage all together they just poured the drink into another glass-Gross!!! When she asked for a new one the waitress was rude. The whole experiece was less than desirable.
Not good at all looks quaint but the staff ain't move on !!!

We stopped into the Habana because we thought the place looked quaint. We reviewed the menu outside and decided to go in. Yes the place is small but that was ok. The decor was cheeky and we had an expectation of inexpensive but good tasting. WE WERE WRONG. We ordered pancakes with fruit. and the eggs with chorizo. The pancakes were tasteless, thin and lack luster the fruit was fresh but warm. The eggs with chorizo came with black beans. You could smell chorizo but not see them.. The eggs were scrambled and over done and not visually appealing at all. We were hungry and we ate it all yes but , we left there very very disappointed. We ordered 2 cafe con leches and got to leches w/ a drop of cafe. If you are going to serve inexpensive food at least make sure the coffee is satisfying. P.S. the coffee was served in malted milk glasses why? I suppose the resturant gods do. I'd critic the staff but dare not waste more time on this sham of a latin resturant. Perhaps they should not serve breakfast.
Food never tastes as good

when you have to wait a million years for it. It took forever for us to be seated and one of the waitresses was super annoying. The food was good and the drinks potent, but I'm just not a person who can justify having to wait on line at a restaurant.

This small restaurant is more like a casual dining place, but hardly worth the 40-minute wait for the nothing unusual food. I guess the hype or chic-factor is the main attraction. The grilled corn is excellent.

this place thrives on being small and difficult, but that's kinda the point, isn't it? grilled corn was amazing. wait staff was polite, but hurried. definitely go for the mojitos. we showed up at 6 on a saturday and only waited 15 minutes.
