You simply HAVE to order/try this Gnocchi di Gorgonzola. Seriously. The gnocchi melted in your mouth along with just enough creaminess and gorgonzola cheese. You will be eating pure 'love.' Diego is the chef there who prepared ours. The Lentil soup is perfect for a cold chilly day. Stefano the proprietor made sure we had the Torta di Barozzi. A favorite of Modena, yours?

Was looking for a place to grab a coffee and do some work online so went to use the WiFi. Was a very hot day and seemed they were skimping on power for the AC. Also only 1 power outlet in the whole place. However, more disappointing was the 'uninterested' attitude of the staff, the gathering of flies near the kitchen and the coffee with a 'fishy' aftertaste. Thanks for the WiFi but for my coffee and atmosphere there are more welcoming venues.

Caffe Emilia is that rarest of things: an "Italian" coffee bar that actually FEELS like Italy. The staff appear to be all Italian, along with a large percentage of the clientele. Don't bother with the over-priced old school pasticcerie De Robertis or Veniero's, both of which are about as Italian as fettucine alfredo. Along with Zibetto in midtown, this is the one place where I can walk inside, order a macchiato in Italian, and receive exactly what I asked for. Plus they have La Repubblica newspaper (the New York reviewer must have gotten lucky for I have yet to spot La Gazzetta)!
