Caffe Falai - Best Moder Caffe in Soho -
By Victoriasexy on 5/9/2010
"We had a really good experience. I think Caffe Falai is the best Modern Caffe in Soho. The food was really good, we had a superb raccomandation from the staff.(Polipo-Gnudi-Codfish) and the wine (Vernaccia) was well raccomended. Gianfranco's service was perfect. The food was superb and the service was excellent!" I will back!
Good food, but unwelcoming service

Last night my boyfriend and I tried Cafe Falai. It took a long time for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink. We could not tell who was the waiter, host, owner, etc. We sat for awhile until we had to get someone's attention. He seemed annoyed that we were annoyed. I ordered a prosecco and this took a long time to come. When our food came, no one asked us how we are liking our food or if I cared for a glass of wine. We felt unwelcome and wished we had chosen another place where we would rather spend our money. The family sitting next to us was getting impatient as well from neglect. This wasn’t slow service because they were busy-slow because they were chatting with other customers that seemed to be their favorites. I wish I had the same experience as the other positive reviewers.
Great Sevice, Food, Ambiance

Enrico the manager is a peach, and friendly is not the word for their staff's service. The white classic interior will make you feel like you just died and went straight to heaven (on a sunny day no less ! ), and the food will verify that you are there. The prices are reasonable, and the artful food combinations are worthy of a much more expensive setting, but you are still eating 'on the cheap' (for New York that is). I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant / cafee to anyone who likes modern continental / Italian cuisine as much as I do, you won't be disappointed!

From Falai to Caffe Falai

A nice guy with the glass invite me to try Caffe Falai and finally, after my great experience at Falai Restaurant, I decided to spend my dinner. Everything was perfect and I got impress for the quality of the service I've received. The homemade pasta and the dessert are amazing. Thank you again. I will be back soon even if before I've to try Falai Panetteria.
Always a Treat

Have been going here for over a year now, and I have yet to have a negative experience. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and kind and I have received dessert on the house more than once!
Warning - be careful about the bottled water!

I recently went to Caffe Falai with 9 other friends. The food was very good - some of the dishes such as the almond papardelle pasta were excellent. HOWEVER, we were asked if we wanted water at the beginning of the meal and we explicitly said "TAP WATER." The "TAP WATER" ended up being Italian "Acqua di Panna" at $7 a bottle, which was aggressively filled throughout the meal. Well - the "TAP WATER" ended up adding $50 + tax and tip ($65 all in) to our meal. We didn't feel like ruining a good meal by having a fight with the restaurant, but WATCH OUT to make sure this doesn't happen to you. If it hadn't been for this, I would've rated the restaurants "Service" much higher than I did.
