Enrico the manager is a peach, and friendly is not the word for their staff's service. The white classic interior will make you feel like you just died and went straight to heaven (on a sunny day no less ! ), and the food will verify that you are there. The prices are reasonable, and the artful food combinations are worthy of a much more expensive setting, but you are still eating 'on the cheap' (for New York that is). I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant / cafee to anyone who likes modern continental / Italian cuisine as much as I do, you won't be disappointed!

A nice guy with the glass invite me to try Caffe Falai and finally, after my great experience at Falai Restaurant, I decided to spend my dinner. Everything was perfect and I got impress for the quality of the service I've received. The homemade pasta and the dessert are amazing. Thank you again. I will be back soon even if before I've to try Falai Panetteria.

Have been going here for over a year now, and I have yet to have a negative experience. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and kind and I have received dessert on the house more than once!

I recently went to Caffe Falai with 9 other friends. The food was very good - some of the dishes such as the almond papardelle pasta were excellent. HOWEVER, we were asked if we wanted water at the beginning of the meal and we explicitly said "TAP WATER." The "TAP WATER" ended up being Italian "Acqua di Panna" at $7 a bottle, which was aggressively filled throughout the meal. Well - the "TAP WATER" ended up adding $50 + tax and tip ($65 all in) to our meal. We didn't feel like ruining a good meal by having a fight with the restaurant, but WATCH OUT to make sure this doesn't happen to you. If it hadn't been for this, I would've rated the restaurants "Service" much higher than I did.

I have been familiar with the Panatteria and the Restaurant in the Lower East Side and was pleased with the service and excellent food at the Cafe. I would definitely go back there again.

My guest and I were thrilled to stumble upon Caffe Falai just around the corner from busy Broadway in Nolita last week. The sparkle of candlelight, crystal, and white linens drew us into a welcoming atmosphere. After asking for help with the wine, a luscious bottle of white from San Gimignano provided the perfect start to our meal. A light tomato and bread soup was followed by a salad of delicate greens and avocado dressed with white truffle oil. A perfect al dente linguini was then served with a sauce of parmesan, garlic, and lemon zest. Tiny biscotti with expresso ended the meal perfectly. The collection of mirrors hung at various heights along the outer wall of the restaurant proved not to be mere decoration. In fact, the mirrors offered diners a clever, yet subtle, way of watching the reflected activity on the street, in the kitchen, and among fellow diners. This restaurant has great potential. The subtle and beautifully crafted cuisine is glorious. Be patient, show appreciation, and you will be rewarded.
