An excellent welcome to NYC

We dropped in to Caffe Linda on our first night holidaying in NYC, jet lagged, tired and still without our bearings and, to be honest, we picked this restaurant because it was the first one that looked welcoming. At about 6.30pm on a Monday night, the place was hardly packed but we got very nice, attentive service and the food was remarkable. The complimentary bruschettas were prepared to perfection and the seafood pasta (I forget the actual recipe) was delicious - light yet filling, with the best scallops I've eaten in years. The gnocchi was prepared well and didn't suffer from the heaviness you so often get and the rest of the food was excellent. A delightful little restaurant that was a very lucky random choice by us. I would definitely go back.

Passed by this adorable italian cafe and gave it a try!! And is was so worth it!! My husband and I are picky eaters. We had two different panini sandwiches on the menu. Oh Sooo delicious!! My husband had every last crumb on his dish!! And I couldn't finish mine although 3/4 of the way I was done. This place is well worth the stop. The wine we had went beautiful as well. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I joined just to write this review-- I went here with family friends last saturday, and the food was honestly just really really bad. I don't understand how it got a 'critic's pick' check-mark. It's hard to find decent, not overly expensive restaurants in midtown east, but even so I wouldn't recommend this one. I am not a picky person but the salad was kind of pathetic and the pasta was almost inedible.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across Caffe Linda about 6 months ago while strolling in Manhattan. We were a little hesitant to stop in because it was so tiny, but we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Black Linguini with Lobster and Shrimp. It was delicious!

Caffe Not Very Good

My friend and I ate here last night and we were both disappointed. The waitress was a zombie and the food wasn't very good. The caesar salads were pretty good, but the pastas were awful. The papardelle with mushrooms was dry and boring. The orichiette with broccoli rabe & sausage was flavorless and it was as if they didn't drain the pasta at all--like soup! This is really not an Italian restaurant at all. Many other better options in Midtown, and the gum in the checkbook is ultra tacky.

Reminiscing Rome

Roughly 100 bucks for 2 people = 4 by the glass-wine, one semi-tough gnocchi, one good pesto pappardelle (says the genuine Italian at the table), and one shared appetizer. It seemed a bit steep for the quality, though portions were fine. Mainly it just made us reminisce about our favorite restaurants in Rome. It was roomy and seemed kid friendly. Staff was friendly. Decor needs revamping.

I've been there more than once and every time with the same pleasure and not because I am homesick (I'm Italian) but because it is worth it! Bravo Claudio!!!

Cold setting, with no feeling of Italian other than the menu and food. Staff was entirely Asian. We thought we were in the wrong restaurant. Better Italian restaurants at equal prices in NYC.

Caffe Linda is aight!

I just came back from the Caffe with some coworkers. The consensus opinion of this place was slightly above average. Half of the group had salad while the other half had pasta dishes. If you are looking to be fully satisfied by your meal go with a pasta dish. I had primavera which was prepared very nicely, and I had a generous portion. Probably not the best idea to order a salad from an Italian restaurant anyway. If you are looking for a good salad, go to saladworks. The ingredients seem fresh with minimal processing ingredients. Nice touch with the gum at the end of your meal and the bruschetta. As far as value goes, the prices were a bit steep in my opinion. Keep in mind though, our group of workers is notorious for being a stingy bunch (myself included). Prices not terrible considering the section of manhattan. As the young kids say nowadays, Caffe Linda was da bomb, and I would definitely go back. Fah Shizzle! Peace Out everyone, I'm Swayzee! jb
