C'mon - the arepas are ridiculously delicious. The arepa shell or whatever is an amazing combination of crispy, chewy, and greasy. My favorite filling is of course the De Pabellon - shredded beef, plaintains, black beans, and salty white cheese. I also love the one with chicken, chorizo, and avocado. People are pretty much friendly. The smaller part (never eaten in the table service area) can get too busy/crowded, but if you go at a good time (say, 5 pm), it's a pleasure. Damn, I want one right now.

This is my favorite place for cheap eats in NYC. The arepas are delicious and surprisingly filling. And don't leave without trying the plantains. The only downside is that there is always a wait!

The Arepas: Light, crispy, almost delicate corn tortilla shell; incredible, well-seasoned filling.... We really regretted ordering the entree, because that took up valuable stomach space from the arepas. We had the "La Popular" platter, which just blew us away (this was after we had the entree of cornmeal tamale and pan de jamon, which was unmemorable). We also had the Tinto de Verano, which is like a red wine sangria (goes well with the food), and the mimosa (which was really small and tasted like carbonated Tang). Cozy little place, especially if you get the seat by the window. Would definitely go back again!

I accidentally walked into Caracas on Saturday- attracted by the colorful room and laughing groups of friends I saw from the window. The room is hard to move around, but the turnover is quick. We ordered "La Popular"--a sampler of 3 arapes on the menu. I would have substituted the one that just had black beans for something more exciting--but the arape with shredded beef, beans, what they call "salty cheese", and plantains was incredible. Don't leave without ordering the "Yoyos"- warm and cinnamony balls of fried dough that manage to be light and fluffy surrounding a sandwich of plantains and white cheddar served with molasses dipping sauce....I couldn't get enough. The food is FUN! and cheap and tasty. To cover all my bases- the waitress could certainly have been a little more jovial. The poor girl looked like she was going to fall over with exhaustion. I hate to be quick to judge, though--she could have had a very bad morning.

I was so excited to find this little arepera just minutes away from home. The arepas, tequenos and everything inside this little place is just like what you'll see in Venezuela. The food is excellent, inexpensive for sure, and the ambiance is very friendly. The decor brings you back home...I only wish they would deliver (to Long Island).

This was the first place in where I ate and took some of my friends to try typical cusine from my country!! Is a small little place in where I go now and then to eat what I us too eat back home, .. las cachapas, arepas, etc

I went to Caracas Arepa Bar this week and had an unpleasant experience. The arepas I had were hard to bite and not soft inside like a freshly made arepa should be. They tasted like they were made the day before. It is strange that what seems to be their specialty is of such poor quality. I did not venture into any of their other type of dishes. On top of that I got a terrible attitude from the waitress when I told her that the arepas tasted badly and did not feel fresh. I'll never go back there again. Fred

This is the best venezuelan arepa that I have ever tried.Try to make your own creation. The place is tiny but its charm may lie in this fact. Music and ambience in general were great.

The food is awesome, truly authentic venezuelan homemade food. They bring authentic ingredients to cook, the service is great and friendly. The place is very cute and original.

Amazing spot! Genuine and authentic. A nice atmosphere with a nicer taste. Venezuelan food was a good kept secret until now. Highly recomended expirience. Excelente vibe from the people working there, eating there and the food itself
