VERY BAD VENEZUELAN RESTAURANT

This is the Worst venezuelan restaurant in the city. The most expensive, greasy smell and very small and uncomfortable. Do not carry many of the original dishes that many of the Great Venezuelan Restaurants have in NYC to name some of them: El Cocotero (Chealsea) Guayoyo (4th St. & 1st Ave), Cachapas y Mas (Inwoods) & Arepas Cafe (Astoria). Do not waste your time and money in this rest. Go and check the really good ones out there! See you.

Great arepas and even had a vegetarian selection. Staff was friendly. It's a crowded spot, but not too bad.

Loved the simplicity of the place! Good, cheap food. Had the beef, cheese and plantain stuffed arepa and a beer!! A nice lunch date with girlfriends...easy breezy and in a cool area! Go try one, even if it's just a cheese stuffed arepa. It will be worth it.

The wait is worth it. If they say 30 minute wait...there is a reason why there is back up. Just don't think about it...just go. If you're super hungry...just get their chips and guac...amazing.

There are great nyc restaurants and there are spots like Caracas. This neighborhood restaurant has received national media attention but managed to maintain their identity. The food is made to order, is always fresh, and is simply good. Do not pass on the fresh fruit juices. Order tajadas as an appetizer. You cant go wrong.

Nice environment and friendly staff. The food was impressive, as in OH MY GOD WHAT A GREAT MEAL-excellent. It doesn't come often as good as this.

oh my, this is a good good dinner. be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends, but the waitstaff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is warm & colorful, and most of all the food is FRIGGIN DELICIOUS. i always get the sampler of 3 different arepas (highly recommended) and split it with a friend; it's just enough for 2. the arepas are tender, crisp, and bursting with juicy goodness. fresh and flavorful appetizers (esp. any dish with plantains), good salads, yummy desserts (try the warm crunchy wafers oozing with dulce de leche), and the prices are reasonable. god knows what they put in those bottles of sauce on every table but i could eat it with a spoon. go here tonight.

This tiny little place seats about 20 and you will probably get to know your neighbors by the end of the meal! The menu just has a great variety of Venezuelan treats that are simple, flavorful, and inviting. But don't let your eyes be deceived! While the Arepa looks small, it is very very filling. I tried the shredded beef/black beans/plantains and can't wait to go back to try more. The flavors are well-balanced and the food is really very good. Don't worry, they have vegetarian options too! My friend and I shared an appetizer (guacamole & plaintain chips) and had an Arepa each for less than $30... a steal for NYC! However, be prepared to wait...this is a popular hot spot... so if you are in a hurry, stop by next door for an Arepa to go!

The food is good but its definitely overpriced for what it is. The service was extremely impolite and even disrespectful, to the point to never come back and make write this review.
